    Good evening

Whilst we are all the in charge of ourselves I have a confession to make. A couple of months ago I bought a big ceramic piggy bank and so I open the tins I had already filled to put the money in the pig. Whilst I was cutting my way into the tin with the new £5s in i I cut three of them in half longways, should I count those 6 halves as £30 instead :D:rotfl:

Keep up with the potting Lilyflower and sue will sort out a number for you

Excellent potting DreamerHelen. For me, not sleeping makes everything feel so much worse. Hope you get sorted soon x

Well done mummytummy on persuading Cassie to come back :money:

Cassie, sue will give you a number as soon as she feels well enough to pop on. Watch out for the possibility of cutting the £5ers up when you take them out of the tin :rotfl:

Well that was an offer Cassie can.t refuse frogletina. That's so kind of you to help out with unwanted £2 coins ;). I know it is completely irrational of me, but the reason I don't like the new £5ers is the see through bit on the side. I am honestly concerned that when the new £10 and £20 notes arrive they will have the same see through bit. Not sure what I'm gong to do then!

What a great amount owlet. You are done not really well. I haven't seen any of the new £1s yet. I'm pretty sure I don't like them, although I wouldn't mind a sack full of them :p

Hello seekingthesunlight. Siju is absolutely right, you are more than welcome to join us. Keep us up to date with your potting whilst you are waiting for a number :T. Siju, I am sure sue will be handing out a few stars when she comes back and your name is sure to be on one of them :j

Hiya MLE007, great to see you popping in.

I potted £2 today. It's been a really long week and I will be really grateful for the weekend when it arrived bes.

    Have a great Friday everyone.

    Evening Everyone

Sorry to hear about your fall, Sue UU. Hope you're on the mend and will be back soon. Love your cheery positive posts :)

I opened my sealed tin because other old £ coins and found I had only put 4 of them in the tin :rotfl: Oh well I had £100 in the tin, so that's been banked (added to my sig). Hopefully, I'll have much more by Nov :D. Started my new tin off with £3 (including one new £ coin)

Oh no, 32b3! Do you still have those halves? Perhaps the bank would honour them?

I've counted up what I've saved so far this year in £2 coins and it's £86 :D I won't be able to physically put it in the bank until Wednesday but they are put aside / separate from my purse money, so I'll put it into my signature now. I need to find a new pot to save money into though - I'm far too fussy with my pots it seems :o

    Afternoon all!

I've just done a sneaky swap with my Mumma, a crunchy old tenner for two shiny plastic fivers, and have a £2 and my new £1 to pot later. I'm trying to embrace all this newness!

32b, I also had issues with the see-through bits in the new notes - when I held my first one up I wondered why no-one had told me they were putting my Mum's face on the new fivers! Most disconcerting! It would be cool if my Mum was the new face of the fiver, but I don't think it would mean I'd have any extras to pot!

But £13 will do nicely for me today towards the Emergency Fund! The money in my signature is what I have saved in the Emergency Fund account already, and I'm aiming for £1,000 in the pot to top it up!

Happy potting, potters! And I hope anyone having a flutter on the Grand National gets some extra pennies to pot! (Perhaps I might if I chose horses based on odds rather than funny names!) :D xxx

    Afternoon

    What a lovely day

I hope the bank will honour the £5ers Cazzie. I suppose there's only one way to find out :) surely you would have loads of plastic £5ers if your mums face was on the :D. Amazing effort on the emergency fund. £13 in one day woop woop.

Well done MLE007. There certainly seems to be a shortage of £2 coins this year!

I potted £2 odd yesterday and will be potting about £1.50 today!

Hope everyone is enjoying the lovely weather. Winter is coming back tomorrow apparently

Thanks 32b! Being a member of Team SPC again is doing wonders for the fund! Another shiny plastic fiver to pop in today too! You've done well too by the looks of things. Do you have a target?

I forget their name, but when I was on here a few years ago, there was a member who was a huge fan of roadkill - blink and they'd have it from under your nose before you could say 'extra pot money'! I think of them every time I get my hands on some roadkill - I like to think they'd be quite proud! I'm not ashamed of brazenly picking up the extra pennies (after all, they make pounds!)

Hope everyone has had a happy Sunday and lots of potting has been occurring, and hope you all have an enjoyable warm light evening! :) xxx

PS - I'm super happy as I've just managed to sell a few unwanted bits on a well-known social media site (£19 in total, totally chuffed!) and now I'm trying to decide if it's socially acceptable to demand that payment is made in new fivers, £2 and/or new £1 coins! :D xxx

  • Just 25p for the pot today, found in the lining of my coat while I was fixing it. Hoping for more change to come my way next week!
