PS - I read this morning that there are already fake new fivers in circulation - so much for them being impossible to forge! Mine had all better be the real deal or unhappy Cazzie will be unleashed and she's even worse than regular Cazzie! xxxHouse Deposit Fund - £30,000 / Fees Fund - £5,000Furniture Fund - £2,500 / White Goods Fund - £2,500 / Flooring Fund - £2,500Emergency Fund - £7,500365 Day Penny Challenge for 2025 - £638.69/£667.95 (Holiday Fund)£2 Savers Club for 2025 - £24/£200 (Christmas Fund)52 Week Card Challenge for 2025 - £267/£400 (Fun Fund)0

Hi there everyone
Came back off holiday and went straight into a "please don't spend any money" phase. So have only been making change in the last week or so. Just potted £8.86 (wish I could have found the extra tuppence) so am feeling much happier. Have only just seen my first new £1 coin. My mum got three in her change so gave me one
Hoping everyone has a great Easter long weekend

Hi MissDM! I'm meant to be having one of those phases too, but it hasn't been going so well! I only pot new fivers, £2 coins and new £1 coins in my sealed pot so I'm justifying any spending by saying I'm trying to get pot money in change! But then I look at my bank account and think pay day is a long way away and I really need to ease up a bit! Excellent potting by you though, £8.86 in small change is no mean feat!
I'm taking Nanna shopping today and we will be looking at baby clothes and I will blatantly be making yet more purchases for my soon-to-be Godson (who already has more clothes than I do!) but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some pot-worthy change!xxx

Hey jakes-mum, I've just noticed some win totals in your signature - are you a comper too!? Short of getting a second job, it's the only way I can think of to earn some extra pennies! I comp like crazy but only ever seem to get the odd win here and there, but hey, it's fun trying!
Ha ha, I am indeedy, not anywhere near as dedicated as I was (used to put in 12 - 14 hrs a day straight comping at one point, made myself pretty poorly) but still enjoy the odd dabble on the comping boards. I made the decision recently to stop doing facebook comps as i've been comping for, what, 5 years now and have only had 1 fb win so its really not worth it for me. Had a few off twitter though so will keep going with them for now (though I think a fair few on fb and twitter now disregard you if your account looks 'compy').
I have 0p to pot todayas went to bingo last night with me mum (free it was
) and we won nowt :rotfl: ahh well, another day another chance to find someone elses dropped money!
Now I have to return to my lego blanket of evil, the never ending lego blanket, the blanket I have now been working on for 5 months and am darn near sure is being unraveled in the night by a very nasty little pixie :rotfl:SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -

Well, it sounds like it's a more healthy hobby now jakes-mum but I completely understand how it can become weirdly obsessive. I've lost many a day to comping and have little to show for it. Don't get me wrong, I've had some great wins, but it's easy for life to pass you by whilst you're doing it. Now I just try to do it when I literally can't do much else (like during my long work commutes!) It was all with the plan of winning things which I could then sell to boost the Flat Deposit Fund but I realised it will happen when it happens and not to detach myself from the world in my superhuman efforts!
Didn't make it shopping today - been struck down by what I am hoping is a 24-hour bug and not a minute longer! So no pretties for the pot today, but on the plus side my bank account remained untouched! Every cloud!xxx

Evening all!
Well, I made it to the shops today but underestimated quite how ill I was (today's treat was a migraine which became colossal under the bright lights of the supermarket!) It did mean I once again didn't spend any money though! Although it also means I've nothing to go in the pot today. But after a long sleep I am finally starting to feel a little human again and I'm sure I will be back to spending my hard-earned cash before too long!
Hope you've all managed to gather some pennies for your pots!xxx
