  • Hi guys :) happy Halloween. I'm very excited as dgd, her bff and my bff should be here for madam tea party in about 30 min. I just need to clean the toilet and make pizzas and then games with the Los :)

    Not much to report

Checked bank and I've received £18 in interest
Quickly been round the house tidying and putting away
Dug out madams fancy dress outfit. From last year so a little snug and short but it'll do. We made lots of Dec's using paper already in the house
Lunch was lo lasagna for oh and I
    Only spent £1
Submitted expenses claim, £65 coming back to me
Need to reply to Ms query....

    Okay better go! X

    Hi Monday Savers,
*Coffees at S-i-L's & a further free one later from loyalty card.
*Nice day at local park for £3 parking. We took a picnic involving l/o bbq & cake.
    *Entered competition.
*Freezer/fridge dive tonight. Mr f appears to be gearing up to construct some kind of Epic Stew, as he's got heaps of containers of various l/o stuff out of the freezer. I fancy egg & chips so he says he'll make that for me at the same time. "You can watch 'Poldark' & knit, babe"......don't mind if I do!
*Laundry on heated airer which I'll switch on overnight to maximise cheap tariff. Timer set for cheap overnight wash tonight too.
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch (more l/o bbq).
*Trimmed a few bits off my anniversary flowers & topped up the water to keep them going a bit longer.
*Knit more of my l/o patterned sock yarn into blanket squares.
*No heating on. Just dress & lightweight cardi today on our walk. So sunny & warm, I had to take my coat off.
*Read the 'Guardian' online instead of buying one.
    Have a good week, all.

Good evening all, I've been trying to get on line to post all day but not managed it!! Thanks PF & Ziggy for the start!
    Today
    * Woke up at 7.30 to find dh still next to me as he'd felt so ill in the night that he'd switched his alarm off and decided to take a sick day - this was then followed by me rushing around like a loon to get the kids up/fed/washed/dressed and out of the house by 10 past 8!
    * I went to the gym and did my class to make the most of my membership.
    * Showered but left hair to dry naturally
    * Did another online chat with broadband supplier and signed up to a new deal after looking around and haggling with them again.
    * Opened up 2 new bank accounts for dh
    * Dh wants to do the lottery so signed him up using a cashback site (needed a direct debit for the above)
    * Also set up two small direct debits to make charity donations for him.
    * I'm having a fast day today (and dh is off his food) so that's moneysaving ;)
    * Made kids packed lunches ready for tomorrow, dh will have the one I made for today, tomorrow
    * I've cleaned down the kitchen using stardrops and microfiber cloths
    * Washed a load on the 30 degree quick wash and dried it in the sunshine on the line
    * Ironed only what needed it, what could be put straight away was (small things right!)
    * On the way to school posted a rm survey item
    * Whilst waiting to collect kids from school (parked up extra early to get a space today as my ankle is sore) I read one of the kids library books
    * I HATE HALLOWEEN - sorry there, I've said it! So we are all cwtched up now in our snug in the back of the house, no lights on at the front, the kids are eating a picnic tea on a blanket (ys muffins, tomato puree & a slice of cheese with lots of salad bits. Will give them some choc/sweets from our stash so that they don't feel left out!)
    * Watching a film from our stash with this kids now.

Right I think that's about it, I'm off!

    Have a good week all.

Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

    Hello,

Thanks for the start Ziggy and PF :D

Hee hee 1LL – I feel the same :) mainly because my dog will be crazy barking every time the doorbell goes. Only had two groups last year so I’m hoping for the same again tonight. OH is at work now and I won’t be home until 6.45/7pm so maybe I will escape and can eat all of the chocolate myself :rotfl:

Oooh foxgloves - I saw Poldark season 1 is now on netflix so I think I will put that on and crochet this eve

Cheapo porridge brekkie – free milk in work :A
Cheapo wholewheat pasta with HM tomato sauce and spinach for lunch
Washed lunch box in work – no excuses for tomorrow :naughty:
Cake sale for charity in work – guilt free snacking and tithing ;)
Sort YNAB tonight – thank you pay day! :T
    Continue with house cleaning/laundry tonight…
Declined an invitation to something I didn’t want to go to – would be about £50 for me and OH so why bl00dy bother?!
Crochet myself a hat - free yarn from MIL's stash

Need to think about xmas pressies - SIL is stressing me out about it already like every bleeding year... Apparently I can just give her the cash and she will choose what DN gets from us out of what she has already bought her, but that takes the bl00dy fun out of it from my point of view. :(
  • Ha ha would she appreciate the £3.49 you would spend la e?! :rotfl:

I usually ask my BIL what sort of things they are in to or give a few ideas. It takes the stress out of it for me knowing what to look out for on eBay and Facebook over the next few weeks. Already got my eye on some Lego friends. Totally agree giving cash does take the fun out of it.

    Evening all :)
Late post today as it has been a busy one!

    *Nothing spent
    *HM meals from stores
*Washing mostly dried on line, finishing off now on airer in front of fire
Walked to surgery for my appointment with the asthma clinic
Wrapped lots of ebay parcels - wasn't able to post today though, because of PO being closed due to strike
Cleared spent plants from both back and front gardens ready for a tip run on Thursday (compost bins are full!) Cut back lavender etc, pulled out weeds
Salvaged 3 small courgettes from plants when I pulled them out
    Picked 2 chillis
    Did a survey for onepoll

Doesn't sound as much as it feels like! :o

A few things for me today:
    - walk to post office with eBay parcel
    - packed lunch
    - NSD
    - left 3 Facebook sales out for my DH to sell tonight when I'm out
Think that's all for me, LP x

  • Morning all :hello:

DH took the battery out of the doorbell :o in his defence he was on nights so was in bed, but the curtains were drawn too. I'm not a fan (of the whole commercialised bit of it anyway)

    Today will look like:
    Check banking, surveys and FPL
Call leisure centre (again) to confirm they have taken the incorrect amount out of my DD. When I called yesterday he said that couldn't possibly be the case as it was showing correctly at his end and my 'pending' payment was wrong, even though I explained it wouldn't be
Lunch and snack to work, hot drink for commute
    Meals from stores for tea
    Quick tidy round before work
    Knit tonight
Message man fitting skirtings to see where he is as he's gone a bit awol

Right, off to get on with the day. PF.
