Glad you've had a good day dizzy, hopefully very productive for the builders.

I have one or two sock mountains, all single fellas by the look of things. Where does the other one go?
    El

I have one specific basket in my bedroom just for solo socks. Periodically I go through it and pair them up. If I've been few that process a couple of times, I tend to start ditching them. Or just only buy one type of sock so they always match.......

Hi, still catching up on the thread - I'm on page 2 - but well done LW on gaining the dogsitting job, I was really pleased to read that.
Narc0lepsy - made me smile about you going outside to give your opinion on the gardening. I do the garden at our house, but I do like OH to come and say 'that looks loads better' - even if he's pretending!
Overwhelmed with housework here, but going to do a little bit - first things first - put a wash on and unload the dishwasher (stuff keeps coming out not so clean? Almost sandy?) then get some tea on.
Will catch up more tomorrow probably.

    Manic Monday

    Kitchen and Dining

    Level 1 Top the lot
    DONE

    Level 2 Floor it

Clean the floor, sweep, mop, [STRIKE]vacuum [/STRIKE]and scrub
    Dust where necessary

    Level 3
Windows and sills clean and clear

    Extras

Check diary - are you up to date with appointments and have you all the cards you need?
Start some xmas prep...cake and/or pudding. Soak that fruit!
Check your Toots list - get builder back to do snagging, call BT and sort out outgoing SMTP server issue - anything you can make a start on?
[STRIKE]Share the love - message or phone someone you love and tell them so[/STRIKE].

    Triffic Tuesday

I've had an idea... This was inspired. I not only did the switches and handles, but cleaned the doors and architraves downstairs which were DISGUSTING. As for the tops of the doors and frames

    [STRIKE]the whole house job
    - get a just-damp M/F cloth (and some hot water for swilling) and go round the WHOLE HOUSE wiping every light switch and door handle, rinsing and squeezing out as you go![/STRIKE]

And now to focus on the living room

Pick as many as you have time for...

-get the window open for fresh air

    [STRIKE]-empty the bin[/STRIKE]

-get a de-webber and swish it in the ceiling corners and along covings/edges and gently flick it over light fittings -let's get those webs before they hit visibility

-dust everywhere - don't forget the skirtings

-wipe/mop/vacuum soft furnishings - lift those cushions and get those crumbs!

    -plump the cushions

[STRIKE]-dust/wipe the door(s) -don't forget those sticky fingermark areas - and the top and the frame[/STRIKE]

    -vacuum/sweep/mop the floor

    -clean the windows

    EXTRAS

CAR CHECKS - OIL, TYRE PRESSURE, WASHER BOTTLE - USE SCREEN WASH TO PREVENT FREEZING - IS YOUR CAR WINTER READY?

I have to accept that I'm not going to get through the whole list each day, but doing SOMETHING is a bonus. And I seem to remember that it eventually gets easier. Until the builders come back...
  • Evening lovelies,

Late catch up for me today. Kiddies were shattered grumpy wrecks by 6.30pm - clocks going back and halloween basically undoing all the good rest time of half term - then DH came in from work all flustered and upset and needed to offload. Ever feel like you spend all your time supporting others?!

I have the day to myself tomorrow to catch up on some much needed housework so I am going to spend half an hour catching up with some bits now before bed.

Dizzy - mightily pleased for you xxx
BM - Have a huge hug from me and feel free to offload. I too get sick of living in chaos - it never seems any better, but what do I expect when its just one person tidying up after 4 all time .....

    Big hugs all round xx
    MFW :)
