  • Hello all,

We got back from a lovely long weekend in Scotland last night. This, plus the fact I had a full week off the paid stuff meant that this morning, back to school and work, was just miserable. And I'm still in the doldrums. Half unpacked bags everywhere. Car full of sand. Dog miserable as she can no longer swim in the sea after her ball endlessly. Food shop just delivered and is still all over the kitchen. Loads of washing to do. The house we stayed in was just lovely, and it is just awful coming back to a half finished mess.

Really sorry, rant over, just ignore me!

No flying done yet, I've been at the paid stuff all day, and this morning before school was taken up with making emergency black cat outfits for the girls, then after work coming and carving pumpkins.

Valli, thanks for the list, hope your sis is doing OK. Natty hope you are OK.
Dizzy I'm so happy for you x
Iona thanks for doing the secret santa thing, I will pm you as it was lovely to have a little present to open last year.
Right, better go, shopping doesn't put itself away. I wish it did, and cleaned the kitchen while it was at it x
  • Aww BM I know that feeling! Hope today is better.

Up early, spag bol made for tea, off to hang washing out then put another load in and get ready for paid stuff x 2.

Have a good Tuesday everyone x

    Morning all
Hope everyone is as well as they can be. Hugs good wishes and positive vibes for all who need/want them.
Natty I hope you are alright.
Dizzy, so glad thing are finally getting under way.
Bossy how lovely I bet your little ones will be so thrilled if the GPs do arrive.
Iona I've pmed you re the secret Santa, thank you for organising that for us.
Didn't get that many trick or treaters last night, but the ones I got were all lovley and very well behaved.

Decided the spirit level was going to be more successful as a two person job so have delayed that one for when Dh can help me. So instead I got all the DVDs out of the lounge cupboards alphabeticised them and culled some so I now have over t can go to the CS on the next run there will be more to go as that didn't even touch the shelves just the cupboards. I have about 10 to go through tonight that we will watch 10 mins of and decide if they also can be donated.
Got hair done in the afternoon, Dh came home from work with an invite to a Christmas party so I must rsvp that.

Read in the paper the temp may drop dramatically soon so make use you ae ready for the cold when it comes.

Yesterday was a good day! We hid in the darkness and didn't getand knocks on the door. We visited a DIY shop and bought some paint to do the living room.

I'm test driving a new car this morning. the lease is up on mine so its time for a change.
I need to iron what was washed yesterday.
I need to measure the windows in the LR to get new curtains/poles.
I need to choose fabric and poles.
Nag DH to contact his carpet friend for a measure/quote for new flooring.
    School run x2
    Dog walk.

    Wishing everyone a good day!

    Triffic Tuesday

    I've had an idea...

    the whole house job
    - get a just-damp M/F cloth (and some hot water for swilling) and go round the WHOLE HOUSE wiping every light switch and door handle, rinsing and squeezing out as you go!

And now to focus on the living room

Pick as many as you have time for...

-get the window open for fresh air

    -empty the bin

-get a de-webber and swish it in the ceiling corners and along covings/edges and gently flick it over light fittings -let's get those webs before they hit visibility

-dust everywhere - don't forget the skirtings

-wipe/mop/vacuum soft furnishings - lift those cushions and get those crumbs!

    -plump the cushions

-dust/wipe the door(s) -don't forget those sticky fingermark areas - and the top and the frame

    -vacuum/sweep/mop the floor

    -clean the windows

    EXTRAS

[STRIKE]CHECK SMOKE ALARMS[/STRIKE] and CO (they're in the same alarm - they do freak me out as they talk)
CAR CHECKS - OIL, TYRE PRESSURE, WASHER BOTTLE - USE SCREEN WASH TO PREVENT FREEZING - IS YOUR CAR WINTER READY?

I also managed to get the hand washing done yesterday, which is great, as it's been hanging around for weeks.
