Hi there,
Finished the paid stuff until next Thursday, 5 whole days off!!!
Bedroom still a work in progress, hopefully no more sanding to be done. DH going to emulsion ceiling and walls tomorrow. I'm going to pick up my new bedding!
Have been fluttering all week so house not looking too bad. The garden, however is a different story, so I think at least some of tomorrow will be making that look a little nicer.
Hugs to all in need xx0 -
Hi all
Hugs Bossy x
No flying here, took my Mum out this afternoon, shopped, ate cake and drank tea. I caught a glimpse of Mum going down some steps very gingerly and thought "she looks old". Silly of course because she is nearly 76 but you dont think of your Mum as being old do you?
Anyway, rambling over. The weather forecast is rubbish for tomorrow so even I am not brave enough to cycle in that. Might catch up on some paid stuff and a few jobs around the house. Must try and make sense of my finances too, I seem to have less in the bank than I should have!0 -
Boss, GPs sound brilliant. My sister had one, so cute!
Quick clean since work- stairs hovered, bathroom hovered, WM on and table cleared for tea (takeaway).
Will do a little more before OH home.0 -
Back from bonfire, bought my dad pie and peas, a cuppa for me and choc brownies for the kids, DD bit into hers and her tooth came out :rotfl: so it is lost in a field somewhere. Sorry, tooth fairy! Oops.Bossymoo

Morning all. It's quiet on here. Hope you're all ok.
Welcome newbies.
This morning I have just done the basics and taken the dogs for a longish walk.
Next is a first aid course.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Healing vibes for your eyes, Lynne, and your lupus, Lamewolf. (((Hugs))) for you Bossy.
Welcome back Neveah. I hope the Huntington's stays calm for a good long while.
Welcome Franalamadingdong! Do you mind if I just call you Fran? I strongly suspect none of us have perfect houses, but if guests don't trip over the dust bunnies, they're welcoming spaces, the kettle's hot and there are biscuits in the tin it sounds like a proper home to me.
If you can take the collapse of a wall in your stride Dizzy you're coping with builders better than I ever have! (Kelpie's thundershirt will be coming out tonight, so I'll have an AF beer and drink to you once again.)
Flying-wise, yesterday I finally got round to finishing the letting rooms ready for tomorrow night's arrival, which is a big improvement on the last time when one of them turned up while I was at the bed-making stage and hadn't even touched the shower room. *oops* He was new to us, as well. He's booked for next year already so I seem to have got away with it.
Passageway finished.
Most of the sack of daffodil bulbs have been crammed into a big pot that I was attempting to grow potatoes in once again. I never remember just how bad the slug problem is in the yard, so this time I think the lesson has been fully absorbed. Anyway, the bulbs will brighten up a very grey space in spring, hurrah. Sundeck swept this morning, so that looks finished, tidy and lovely, finally, after 18 months of work.
Froggie family photograph task is gradually diminishing. It's a bit like your Gift Aid claim Ionafan - every time I tackle it I discover another problem. It will be finished this weekend, packaged up and ready to post to the USA on MOnday because I simply cannot stand it handing around any more. It might even arrive with everyone by Thanksgiving which would be nice. Otherwise I'll just say it's an early Samhain (see I'm learning, Lamewolf) or Christmas gift.
Freezer stocktake done and a decision made about what's got to go to make space for the easiest icecream recipe I want to make with 2pts of whoopsied double cream. *yum* Not that I can eat it until at least the end of November due to being sugar-free at the moment because I need to lose this pillowy tummy, but December should and will be scrumptious.
I'm weeding the summer clothes out to put them in the attic because I'm sick of having to cram everything in the wardrobe. Several boxes have made it to the CS *fling* and there will be more, many many more, before I'm done. I'm so tired of having to play gibble tetris.
More leaves will be raked up today, too. The sycamore has started.Better is good enough.0 -
We shall be attempting Yule puds shortly; Mr LW is to help with the stirring, firstly of course, because everyone has to stir in their own magic, but also because my poor old arms are too weak to cope with stirring pudding mixture for very long, these days. So Flying is likely to be a major clear-up of the kitchen afterwards!
Sending calming vibes to Kelpie and any other furbabies who need them; Mr LW refers to this time of year as "fireworks fortnight" because it seems to drag on for so long. Someone round here was letting them off last night, and there was one almighty BANG that rattled our double-glazed windows! It made me jump out of my skin, so I dread to think of the fear it would have caused animals. I also get fed up of removing dead fireworks from our garden - I'm sure people don't realise that what goes up has to come down somewhere! If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
