Seeing some of you talking about raising money for various charities and what-not I'd thought I'd quickly mention that a lot of the supermarkets and their convenience stores have 'Community Budgets' that they use to support local charities and groups in their areas through donations of raffle prizes and refreshments for events as well occasionally actual grants. Discretion is pretty much up to each store manager and depends on the individual stores budget but they're always worth asking.#13 Make 2023 in 2023 - £2085.20/£2023#23 Save £8k in 2023 - £6642.66/£80000

Hi Aesop / everyone else.
I need to get back into posting rather than lurking! Looks like everyone's doing well though!
I'll be back from January full throttle as I'll be kicking off a savings blitz. In the meantime will keep reading and thanking etc, hope everyone is well.
Oh, and I was awarded my 9 yr badge this week. Blooming heck, I'm practically married to the placeMSE-ing since 20070 -
Welcome back Nicki_Sue:hello:. We'll look forward to seeing you joining our challenge in January:). The more the merrier, the number of posters seems to be very depleted at the moment
. A member for 9 years! By heck, I've been here over 7 and it seems like forever;). Aesop has her 10 year badge:T
I hope everyone is managing to keep warm:coffee:. Woke up at 6 to find thick ice on the car windscreen and the grass white with frost:eek:. Have given my early Saturday morning trip to Morrisons a big miss today. Nothing we're desperate for, we won't starve:rotfl:
Wishing you all a moneymaking weekend and if you can't manage to make anything I hope you manage not to spend too much:beer:0 -

I've met my target this month :-)
Sorry I've not been around but the trains I use to get to work have had 2 weeks of chaos - one night I did not get home until 11pm...
The thing that helped me meet my target was £100 compensation from a company for a serious error. I didn't actually ask for compensation, my main request was to correct the mistake. But, they offered me £100 which I accepted. My colleague who was sat next to me says I should have asked for £200!
I also won £25 on the lottery on Wednesday which I think will end my winning streak - I bought the original ticket weeks ago and kept getting 2 numbers so winning a free lucky dip. I was convinced my roll would end with the jackpot but £25 is better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick, as my dad would say!
I'll tot up later but first I need to claim my compensation for all the train delays. I believe I am owed £40. It would be more but I worked from home on 2 of the days as it was that bad...0
