  • Ive just remembered another bit of positive news on the money front.

I moan about my OH not being really interested in the earning a bit extra thing but he's come good with the monthly virgin bill.

Last year we prepaid the line rental and our monthly payment was around £42. We realised our year was up when our monthly bill jumped to £70!!

OH gave them a call and after a bit of haggling......our monthly payment is down to £40 ish a month again for an 18 month period.
    I'm happy with that. :D

    no honestly it's fine

I just signed up for a reverse advent box with coop. they are doing it on facebook and twitter. the idea is they send you a box with a £5 coop voucher and ideas. every advent day you pop an item in the box. when the box is full you donate it to someone who needs it. as DS cubs affiliated with a church, am going to ask them to donate it to a member of the parish who may be alone at Xmas or very hard up. think even if kids donate 1 item and I pop in a little from shopping and use student discount at coop that £5 will go a little further.

Well done. Good to have your OH onboard with your moneysaving/making:T

My OH costs me money:mad:. I had an email from BT saying my monthly DD would be going up because of extra usage. I have unlimited broadband and unlimited landline phone calls so I was gobsmacked:eek:. When I checked my itemised bill online it was obvious that OH had been phoning 087 numbers frequently:eek:. No, they're not that kind of numbers if that's what you're thinking:rotfl:. They were just enquiries/complaints etc to reputable companies that he's bought stuff from. He is totally computer/mobile phone illiterate and often buys stuff from the colour supplements of Daily Mail and catalogues that he gets through the post. The orders he places(always made by landline) are Freephone but these companies have expensive 087 numbers for customer service/complaints and they aren't covered in my free calls package:. OH doesn't seem to grasp that I can usually find an alternative 'free' number online if he could be bothered to ask, he justs phones the 087 ones as he thinks they are 'free' too with my phone package. It's like dealing with a child sometimes:eek:

Anyway I had a meltdown the other day:o and told him he'd cost me an unnecessary total of £11.35 in the past 3 months. He gave me a £20 note (well, more like flung it on the table) and told me to keep the change. Am going to add the money I made on the deal (£8.65) to my challenge total.
