Weighed in on Tuesday morning and had a gain of 0.5lb, which I was happy and surprised about. I might still gain again this week but I will be in target range starting the New Year which is what my aim was throughout the festive period.
I'm also doing well in my running and had a great 10K race on Tuesday (after weigh in). Hoping to go out and do a couple of miles to start breaking in my new trainers but it is very frosty out there!0 -
Morning all.
Hope everyone is well - even though I'm off work, I hate the inbetween bit of Christmas and New Year.
Trying to stay on plan as much as possible, but it is hard when you're at home. When I'm at work I'm more disciplined.
DD 1 & 2 have gone out to collect an internet order from Superdrug, DH has gone down the Asda quickly, so I'm all alone at the minute (apart from the 2 cats).
Am stuffed up with a cold and have a chesty cough at the moment, DH also has a cough and kept me awake for much of the night. He suffers with it worse than me, as he has COPD. In fact everyone in our house has had this cough and cold, but I was the last one to get it.
It's not WI till Saturday, so I'm hoping there won't be too much damage!

Snap mrsp!! That's on the 0.5lbs gain not the running!:rotfl:
I think you've done really well to stay in range over Christmas. That's a big achievement.:T
I went to WI this morning and was pleased to have such a small gain. I suspect it's genuinely a bit more as I'm still convinced last week it was the porage that gave a higher than expected reading. I'm so used to WI after a very light breakfast that it was like the equivalent of switching to an evening WI.
In any event, it's motivated me to do a good meal plan for the coming week. We'll have a synful meal on Saturday evening but otherwise I'll be trying to stay on plan. 'My' chocolates are going in the cupboard until I get back into target range. More general things like Celebrations DH will eat and they don't call to me.
Today I'm using up what veg is left before shopping tomorrow.
You could do jackets midge, or just tip some cooked new potatoes into the casserole. My SIL uses (and borrows) slow cookers to keep everything warm.I ate because I was annoyed and upset cant say it was good at the time lol . Ah well what will be will be.
Sorry to hear that tweets. Poppy looked happy with the presents though.:)Abbafan1972 wrote: »Hope everyone is well - even though I'm off work, I hate the inbetween bit of Christmas and New Year.

Strangely I really enjoy this bit in between. Once the visitors have gone I can please myself but don't feel obliged to do 'normal' things. This afternoon I'm going to sit and read!
I've had a bit of a cold too hanging around but I'm hoping it will go away before developing further. Hope you recover quickly for your holiday denise.
Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB Puffed Wheat with HEA milk
L: small bowl of lentil soup, JP with cottage cheese, spring onions and picklessausages. roast potatoes and parsnips, carrots, braised red cabbage, white cabbage
Syns: gravy, 2 syns for BGTY sausages0 -
Thanks MM for the info. We've booked one trip but we'll sort out others once there.
Had a gain of 1lb so happy with that means I'm dead on the top end of target range. Need to stick to plan to remain within target range as it will be the last WI before my holiday.
Had a change of plan for lunch as going to use the sweet potatoes tonight instead of the usual mash. Lunch was ham salad sandwich. As I used a Laughing Cow Lightest instead of spread it was only 1 syn. Didn't have any mayo in it.

Welcome H. A new thread will start soon when the festivities are over. If you subscribe to this thread then there'll be a link to the new one.
If you haven't done so, have a look at the 7 day sample menu on the SW website and at the first few posts on this thread. Also, look out for magazines that have vouchers for free membership. That means you could join a group for £5 (instead of £10). You'll get the introductory talk and a set of books at the first session then you can choose whether to go back or use the information to go it alone at home with the help of our thread. Do ask any questions you want.:)
We didn't have the usual Image Therapy today, probably too few losses to make it productive!:rotfl:Instead, the consultant repeated that NYE is just potentially one meal out of 21 and how important it is to get straight back on plan afterwards. She also told us about some new SW products coming to Iceland very soon. She mentioned some more soups, a couple of casserole type dishes and what looked like party food (pasta salad, potato salad and something else).0 -
H - if you want to join a group there is a voucher in Woman magazine this week. Next week would be a good day to start as Image Therapy will probably be for the whole group as a Reminder to existing members - the first one of the year is always like that in my group. The reason being there are usually so many new people starting the first week of January.
As Maman said it's worth going just for this introductory talk and getting the books. You can then make a decision whether to continue with weekly group or go it alone at home with help of this thread.

Thanks for the replies. Think I'll definitely join a local meeting as like you say getting the books will be good and also being able to make sure I'm following it in the best way until I have a good stock of recipies that work for me.
