Home made marmalade sounds amazing. Hive never made marmalade but do make lemon curd with lemoncello from time to time.

Morning all - batch 1 of the marmalade made last night - MrEH pretty much did the whole lot himself apart from one lot of stirring and the potting up - I'm not complaining! Six jars - including 2 larger-than-average clip-top kilner ones for us and a similar sized one for pals, plus three more ordinary sized jars. Batch 2 which we will likely do tomorrow evening should make 7 regular sized jars - possibly plus one smaller one, we hope. Our marmalade is delicious if I do say so myself - and SO chunky - commercial ones never have enough "chunk" for my taste!
Proper foggy on the way in this morning, although the motorway itself was mostly pretty clear the fields either side were looking very atmospheric - or indeed invisible in some places. Thick frost too - and I was VERY glad of my new cycling gloves as at least it was just my fingertips that were frozen solid when I got here rather than my whole hands!
MrEH's car is in the garage and they have sent him the video of the initial "healthcheck" which suggests the problem may well be caused by some corrosion around the DPF. Having seen the footage of it (there is more round an exhaust bracket that will require grinding back / welding too) I'm astonished that a car that's not 6 years old yet can have such severe corrosion - and I've suggested to MrEH that never mind the dealer warranty he needs to look into Peugeot's own anti-corrosion warranty to see if they should be sorting it under that! We'll see what gives on that - it really is pretty worrying though, as we were looking towards keeping it for anything up to 10 years - judging by what we've seen underneath now though it's not going to last that long without needing significant bodywork done. Not impressed.
Just transferred a lump from the joint account to PB's so need to keep an eye to make sure that appears on the account in the next few days. I'll hold off doing too much more with surplus now until the last few days of the month though.
Looks like I've lined myself up for a meeting in London on Friday week to do with the beer festival so I will definitely need to top up my Oyster although the fares for that will be claimable. It'll be nice to see the changes that have been made to the venue though, and to see some of my fellow working party members in person again as it looks like our first face to face meeting won't now be until May. We'll probably head to a pub afterwards for lunch, and I'll need to get MrEH to drop me off for the tube that morning.
Oh and Royal Mail have pushed their luck too far by claiming that they can't deliver a parcel to me today because they have "received a request not to deliver mail to our address today" - no idea who has made such a request, or why RM are giving it house-room allowing it didn't come from us... REALLY not impressed - the service from them has been getting worse and worse and has long since passed "not fit for purpose" - and now they are even fabricating excuses to not deliver the tracked stuff too which at least we were getting before! A complaint is now going to our MP who is generally VERY good in getting involved with stuff like this - so we'll see if they perk their ideas up.

That corrosion on Mr. EH's car doesn't sound good. Living by the sea we get a lot of corrosion but our cars have always been OK.Debt free and Keeping on Track4

The corrosion is not good, I hope you can claim it on your warranty. Not good about RM either, they definitely need a kick up the wotsit. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

I had a similar message from RM a month or so ago. The parcel was delivered within a couple of days of that. I didn't do anything about it, just waited and it arrived. Was a bit odd though.Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

It really is odd - not least as they have delivered the ordinary post to us today - including the thing that should have been there on Friday, but not the parcel. I've DM'd them on twitter telling them I expect to be given the details of the request not to deliver post to our address so we'll see what they say. Probably a load of flannel again mind you!
I'm really quite concerned about the corrosion thing to be honest - I can't see that car not giving us a lot of problems going forwards now we've found that out.
Mini MSE newsflash - got the email through this morning about the £20 Am@z0n gift card as an incentive for opening the new Sant-And-Er account a while ago (the one I still can't use because they've not linked it to my app!) - clicked the link to confirm, code for the £20 gift card arrived a few minutes later - now applied to my account - hurrah for that! Just need to decide what lovely thing to spend it on now - along with the £10 from Power of O which is also still sitting there.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

The corrosion sounds really worrying for such a young car!
The other half had ours up in the air the other week and it was surprisingly clean and corrosion free. It was like a new car.
I would be contacting the manufacturer.4
