Err yes they DID do it every 6 months because i have the service printout, every part ever replaced which is why i chose it. And besides tyres and brakes end a back box just before i sold it it was a great car. The current owner has taken it over 220,000 miles and does between 600 - 800 miles a week in it. Mind you they did need a startermotor earlier this year...
It was 5 years old when i bought it and they had spent over £9000 on it.

Five years of being maintained on the cheap and abused every day. Police cars only ever see a main dealer for warranty work.0

as a cyclist i know only too well that hedge cuttings = huge thorns!
if there is no clear path round the clippings i will dismount and wheel the bike past the clippings and check the tyres before remounting
car tyres are a lot thicker so less risk than on a bike, but not zero risk
I went from a puncture a month to none in 2 years.
I don't notice any extra rolling resistance.
PS: OP, sorry to take your thread off topic.0 -
Blackthorn is the absolute worst b****rd of a hedge to cut and make a good job of, even 6 months growth looks awful.
Do you have proof who the contractor was? and are you prepared to fight it? because from the attitude given on here, if it was my hedge, you'd be in for some fight to prove who did it and where you picked it up!! Especially as the first one was in you're side wall (not a normal place to pick up thorns) Btw my cutter has a blower on the back to get rid of the debris as I go along, but not all contractors do. Yes, they should clear up, but a minority don't, but its now been a week and I can't see where you have tried to contact anyone to get the issue sorted???
Hedges can now pretty much only be cut from beginning of September to end of February apart from for road safety reasons. A lot are being cut now as we've not had the hard winters lately which allowed the machines to travel on the ground without making a mess in the winter, so most are cutting as soon as they can.0 -
