Tick, tick, tick, tick new oil cheapest going £149.

They've ticked the sheet, but have they really done the work?

you could say that about anywhere in theory. i dont see why you are going out of your way to be unhelpful.

in comparison i have another car which i take to the bmw dealer garage as i have a servicing package.

The service cost £572 + a £45 brake fluid change and included nothing more than the HiQ service.

Just plenty of checks and a few filter and spark plug changes

Google kwikfit why do you think hiQ are any better.

Give it two days and you'll be onto the third puncture so hold off the claim and submit it when you're onto a full set. :rotfl:

kwk fit are dreadful, when i once had a headlight bulb go out, they didnt even have a bulb in stock and said " we would have to order it in, having a spare bulb in the car they said we wont fit customers parts"

in contrast HiQ did a bulb change in 5 mins and only charged the cost of the bulb. i have before been charged 30 mins labour for a bulb change which was £18 at a different garage

Hiq have also done a tyre repair and headlight wiring repairs for free in the past.

Can't you change a bulb yourself?

You will all be pleased to know i got a 2nd puncture today

What had you done to mitigate your risk? Maybe inspect and sweep the thorns off the road if necessary? Take an alternate route of possible?

Or more likely 'it's up to somebody else to sort this out'

Yes i usually di. They are just occasions when i havent been able to due to not having equipment (its a remove headlight unit job) or not having a spair bulb on me in the case of going to hiQ

Because that's just the way he is on the forum. I wouldn't bother arguing the toss with him. It seems his sole purpose is to berate other, particularly new, posters rather than add anything helpful or constructive.

It is. As I've said at the outset, it's a criminal offence under The Highways Act 1980 (s148) for the farmer not to clear up anything they've deposited onto the highway.

OP, if there's still plenty of thorns etc on the road then a 101 call may be a way forward if you're clearly not inclined to approach the farmer yourself.
