The OP isn't blaming anyone, he didn't leave negative feedback, it was neutral.
Out of interest OP did you only get your refund after the 10 days?
Yes, because until the 10 days was up, I couldn't report the item as missing. Ordered on 7th October and delivery was by 17th October.0 -
The point is, The op's feedback comments could have a negative effect on potential customers, which in my opinion is very very unfair, I am quite sure if the OP put themselves in the sellers position they would be unhappy about them too.0

I think if the seller promptly refunded then it's unfair on that particular site to leave a 3. It has a big impact on their seller matrix.
The seller has lost the sale, the item and the postage cost.0 -
I think the feedback score is entirely up to the OP and, far from worrying about being "blocked" as a result, I'd be more concerned about them pressurising for a change.0

100% agree with your comments.
There is no patience or kindness left in customers these days.0 -

If I'd written something untrue then it would be unfair. I'm not sure how the facts stated are 'unfair.' I didn't give them 1/5 but 3/5, which is neutral.
As I explained to the person asking me to change the feedback, it's not me that decides to send items untracked, or even the amount of postage charged. That's their decision, so I think they should accept the consequences.
That's why I asked the question here, to see if others agreed with me.
So far, you are the only person who has taken issue with what I did, but your view is still interesting to hear.0 -

Not entirely true. If you read the whole thread, I bought a similar, but slightly more expensive item.
Yes they've lost the original sale, but I lost 10 days worth of use from the item.
I've been a seller too, you know. When I sold stuff that failed for some reason, even when I suspected it was customer error, I gave a replacement FoC.0 -

The words "item never arrived" could have a negative impact on potential customers, you should not have said anything and just left it as it was, but you felt the need to give a negative impression of the seller which is frankly unfair.0 -

As I said, if any trader contacted me to change my feedback I'd send them packing unless they gave very compelling reasons for doing so.0 -

Would 'item was lost in post' be better? It isn't more accurate because I don't really know it was posted, do I? I only know what I know.
So you would just put 3/5, or is that wrong too? That's a fair reflection of how I felt; fed up that I'd be waiting more time, but glad that at least it would be getting resolved.
What is the point of feedback if it all has to be positive?0
