Pressure to Change Feedback

Options
Yesterday, I left neutral feedback for a firm advertising on a well-known web site, who shipped me a piece of electronic equipment, subsequently lost in the post.

Today I have an email from them asking me to remove that feedback, as it is having a negative effect on their score.

My initial reaction is "Good," because the item was sent PP paid for, but untracked, with a delivery window 10 days long. It was therefore 10 days before I could declare it missing; a period far too long IMO.

Am I being unfair? As a grumpy old git of 67 I want to make sure I'm not turning into Victor Meldrew! :rotfl:

Not sure how we can comment, no knowing what the final outcome was or what exactly did you say on the feedback.

I think you need to supply some more detail.

It was a single item, being a warehouse deal. The refund was organised OK.

I had to choose a slightly different item, which still hasn't arrived, but we're only 2 days later. Of course, they could have chosen to send that express, or they could've offred a new one at a discount.

However, my grumble is about the expectation that someone will wait 10 days for a paid-for delivery to show up....or not.
  • Were you aware of the 10 day delivery period before you ordered?

Not in my view, assuming you gave a neutral rather than negative score.

The important thing is to give a fair description of the service you received. Others can then decide for themselves what weight to give to your experience.

    OK:

    • "The item never arrived and there was no tracking information. Seller prompt in issuing refund."
I don't think you need a final outcome here, as I'm assuming the second item will arrive normally in 3-5 days, as stated in the sellers notes.

There's a discrepancy between this and the 10 day window that actually appears when one presses "Track your item" on the well-known web site.

Seems a fair comment to me.
  • OP, Yes you are being unfair because you are blaming the seller for a problem caused by a third party.

Communication can resolve many issues in cases like yours, however many unhappy customers go straight to the feedback in order to have some kind of bitter and twisted revenge.

If we had a customer like you we would promptly put you on the block list.

Please don't be offended by my comments I say them politely to you.

The OP isn't blaming anyone, he didn't leave negative feedback, it was neutral.

Out of interest OP did you only get your refund after the 10 days?
