Because you are once again getting personal, i will leave it there.

Just a point of education for you. A troll isn't someone that disagrees with your point of view. Which is what you are suggesting to the OP.
  • If you're confident about this I would take the cyclist to court to claim for damages to your vehicle and distress.

You might come away with a hefty fine and points for driving without due care and attention and a bill for the medical fees of a cyclist with a jarred spine but it will be worth the risk to prove your point.

    Won't it :o?

  • yes mentioned that at the incident when I told the cyclist he needs to take greater care of himself and I will consider contacting my insurance

Emma, seriously, let it go. Don't turn a drama into a crisis.

If the OP takes a civil action against the cyclist, how can that possibly result in her having a criminal conviction?

Note to self: never use irony to make a point, it is beyond the comprehension of some readers :o.

  • It is relevant if he had lights on or not as I may have had a chance to see him in my periphery (at the centre of the round about) if he had lights on. I wasn't looking when at the centre of the round about as I was doing what he should have been looking infront, or are you telling my now that I should keep my eyes constantly to the right for ninja cyclists cutting through round abouts

No, it's irrelevant. YOU didn't look properly, YOU proceeded without giving way, and so YOU caused the accident.

If you couldn't see another road user when you looked then you didn't look properly. You can whine about them not being all lit up but the truth is that it is your responsibility to look properly before proceeding, and to give way if there is someone there on the right.

That is the law and that is how the insurance company will rightly see it. I know you feel hard done by but it was YOUR mistake- so take responsibility for it, and try to learn from it and move on.

The message was not aimed at you, secondly, please quote me clearly next time, as i dont recall typing the word "troll" however, as you have picked up on that, perhaps that description fits you. I hope that is a form of education back for you, have a lovely warm day :)
Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!

You are right Ilya, the middle bit of the roundabout IS NOT part of the highway and may not be used to negotiate a roundabout, the charge faced is driving without due care and attention, and besides the only reason to use the middle bit is if a person carried to much speed onto the roundabout, which means they did not anticipate the obstruction correctly.

The more likely charge would be failure to comply with a traffic sign.

And to add to this he even hit my side at a very central position on the roundabout, he was crossing the middle of the roundabout

Your OP said he hit the front quarter of your car, this along with him being central in the roundabout could indicate him trying to take evasive action to avoid hitting you.

Can you post the google streetview of the roundabout or the name of the road as it will help

Ok but also suggests I entered the round about first. Irrespective of location your view is already biased my friend. You cannot for one instance fathom that the cyclist was irresponsible and drove into me. I may have been able to have taken evasive action if he wasn't dressed like a ninja and had lights on, but again even that point is irrelevant on this forum

Have you accepted any wrong doing or are you still in denial?
