I ordered my treat today, sphering, let's see what I'll end up with :-)

it's free, so as long as it won't cost a fortune to get there, who cares...
plus if I get something I'm not happy with I can always 'not do it'.

I know a lot of people have been complaining about wanting pamper treats and receiving a 'day out' (which most seem rather poor, I checked one i was interested in only to discover entry fee is only £3.20 anyway). It might have been wiser to offer a free voucher for some nice bubble bath and body lotion to be picked up in sainsbury's instead in case the original chosen treat wasn't available.

Maybe it would also have been better if there system would tell you straight away that a certain treat isn't available, then at least you won't get your hopes up.

But in the end it is free and if they wouldn't have offered it, neither of us would have missed it :-)

To all who got what they wanted....Enjoy!
Life without string would be chaos.

First the the Nectar treats reward is a great reward. Your basically have joined the Nectar scheme for "free" you can gain points on what you are going to spend anyway in the sponsors for "free" and thirdly you have been sent an additional "free treat"

The key word here is "free" Now the Nectar "free treat" has been issued to a lot of customers recently and you have to select a main treat pluss an addiitonal "free treat"

However, this is on a basis of how close you live to where that treat is available and can you imagine the amount of complaints Nectar would receive if Nectar sent a free massage or facial to a 75+ collector for a spa that is 20 miles away, do you think this would be acceptable? In addition to this, a spa centre simply cannot handle over 2000 people a day.

If you have put a complaint regarding the free treat or anything you are unhappy with and have lodged it with the Nectar helpline, then you will receive a response from the Nectar treats team within 21 days of submission.

I didn't receive a response back in November, neither did I receive a treat. Now this time around, I received the fitness centre pass. We all understand that it's free, it's still misleading and doesn't help Nectar's image. I chose something from the "adventure" category, and got the gym pass, which was under the "pamper" list. I don't believe that they ever had any intention of offering me anything other than the gym pass, so they should've just said so in the first place. :)

  • I haven't even got a new card yet so am not able to apply for any treats. Is anyone else still waiting for theirs?
  • I requested my treat a few days ago, and got the free tanning session I requested :D:D

no not for nectar and why does that matter?

No, but the tone of your post was strangely positive in a marketing sort of way. It didn't appear to come from from a customer who was pleased with a treat offered, so we must assume you may be an employee.

You work for Sainsburys then I assume? :D

  • Great news! Thanks!
  • Just to add my comments from 'the other side' - I'm just as frustrated with the system as you all are.

I'm a holistic therapist with a busy practice, and was invited to offer my services to TLC on the basis that, although people would initially come for a free treatment, it was free advertising for my business and would get people through the door, so there was a pretty high chance that I would receive some return business. I saw no harm in giving it a try, especially since this can be a quiet time of year, so told TLC I would take 10 'treat' customers and if there was no return trade I would remove my name from their list.

My Indian Head Massage treatments were all very well appreciated and, although some of the clients said they would be back, it's all been hot air and there has been no return trade at all.

So far, all the people who have come to me via the free treat vouchers have presumed that I am paid by Nectar, Body Shop or whoever has organised the offer. This is not so, and I get paid absolutely nothing for doing this. I thought it worth my time and effort initially for the potential new trade, but it has now become a nightmare, with loads of callers every day asking for their free Nectar (or Body Shop or whatever) 'treat'.

On contacting TLC to remove my name from their list, I have been fobbed off on several occasions with various excuses along the lines of 'the person you need to speak to isn't in today' and 'they're busy just now but will call you back' or the line simply doesn't get answered. Needless to say, nobody has called me back....... and all the while I'm being inundated with calls from people with vouchers, who I have been trying to accommodate alongside my paying clients. Now I've had enough of this hassle, and I'm simply not able to take any more freebies as my business is likely to suffer if I fill my appointment book with non-paying clients.

So please spare a thought for the poor therapists on the other side of the coin - because we're being messed around too. Sorry folks, but I think this may be one of the reasons for the lack of therapists offering pamper treats.
