We applied for our nectar treat, OH fancied a days' golf, and ended up with a trip to the gym!!

We just laughed, it cost nothing to reply, after reading comments on here ,I was sceptical that we would get our request so we are not upset.

I do have to say that as a marketing strategy, the whole thing is a shambles. I was aware of this promotion (via this site tvm) a while ago but only got the official details on 21/12/07. If a company is going to do something like this , then at least make sure it is something that will be offered at the SAME time to ALL the customers. I would have been happier if they sent a £2.50 voucher off shopping as a thank you , at least all customers would receive the same thank you IMHO.

Happy New Year to everyone xxxxx

Just received my leaflet today! I would love to get any of the pampering treatments but judging by these posts I don't know if it's worth even trying? I haven't read all of them but it looks as if the general gist is that you get offered a day out, I think. Oh, well, I suppose I could try anyway.

Its just a big marketing scam with only a very few proper treats available.

  • I thought I'd give it a try. I've recently moved, and updated my address with Nectar, but for some bizarre reason I could only apply for my treat with my old address. I now have a pass for a fitness centre 200 miles away - and it would still have meant a 30 mile round trip from my old address. That was a waste of time.

Most fitness centers will give you a free pass for a day to try it out if you show an interest in joining.
I suspect that most of them would if you simply ask.

Obviously you may have someone wanting to talk to you about the facilites if you ask directly and they may want to take your details to contact you i.e. no such thing as a free lunch.

Regarding all this rubbish about people not being able to open the emails, all you need is the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader. It's available to download for free here. If you've got an ancient version which you've not updated since you got your PC, of course you won't be able to open current version PDF files. Anyone with basic computer knowledge could tell you this.

So don't bag nectar for that - bag them for the fact that the rest of this is a farce ;)

  • First the the Nectar treats reward is a great reward. Your basically have joined the Nectar scheme for "free" you can gain points on what you are going to spend anyway in the sponsors for "free" and thirdly you have been sent an additional "free treat"

The key word here is "free" Now the Nectar "free treat" has been issued to a lot of customers recently and you have to select a main treat pluss an addiitonal "free treat"

However, this is on a basis of how close you live to where that treat is available and can you imagine the amount of complaints Nectar would receive if Nectar sent a free massage or facial to a 75+ collector for a spa that is 20 miles away, do you think this would be acceptable? In addition to this, a spa centre simply cannot handle over 2000 people a day.

If you have put a complaint regarding the free treat or anything you are unhappy with and have lodged it with the Nectar helpline, then you will receive a response from the Nectar treats team within 21 days of submission.
