Good Evening All!
Haven't yet read any of this! The good and the bad of this Monday:
Good - home earlier than usual and managed to spend 40 minutes in the dangerous zone of the clutter-filled small bedroom. Didn't get to more than open the door, sigh and close it during the summer!
Bad - hit fox or small mountjack deer this morning (it vanished into hedge again). Almighty bang....carried on to school....large section of grill missing in bumper and ominous hissing noise...RAC out, fortunately No damage to radiator (noise must have been fan cooling engine).
Ah well, could have been much worse.
Supper next, then I'll try to catch up with the thread.Resolution:

WHOO HOO!!! :j
Just wanted to share my excitement (it doesnt come that often for me so make the most of it) I think I may have mentioned aaages ago, that I was considering replacing my interior doors! Well, OH has just fetched 6 solid pine ones, all 6panelled, with brass handles & hinges etc from freecycle. They only need a wipe down. Cant believe how in good nick they are!
Anyway, thats my excitement for the week!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -
Nelski and Pen Pin - so sorry to hear of your loss. It always brings you up short doesn't it? Especially when folk die young.
Taplady, hope the funeral was ok - these things have to be faced, but they're never pleasant - and worse when they're near another loved one's anniversary.
(((HUGS))) all round.Resolution:

Crazychik great result on the doors! :T
beemuzed glad you are ok and your car isn't too bad. Hope the animal you hit will recover too.
DD didn't get lunch again today - but it's her own fault this time. She packed her lunch bag then forgot to put in her rucksack. Thankfully her friends cobbled something together for her but I need to make sure that she has some money on her dining card just for emergencies. She has now gone out with her friend and is *supposed* to be back by 7.00 pm to wash the dishes and then do her homework. I expect the phone to ring any minute asking if she can stay at her friend's for another half hour or so.
I think a couple of posters have said they will be going through bags and boxes, etc tomorrow to sort out Christmas pressies (dlb and crazychik, I think but could be wrong). I'm going to do the same and may even wrap a few up to make some more space. I have bits and pieces all over the place in my room and I'm fed up looking at them now.
Enjoy your evening, whatever you are doing. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Shez - sometimes things get lost in the general chit chat so if you don't get a response then try starting your own thread on the specific subject -that's what i do anyway
I have done that too:o
Gosh just got back from swimming and want to say thanks for all the pm's:T
really appreciated guys, shucks- I dont know what to say!! thanks.
I know I only post a load of old twaddle mainly (like blanching beans!), nowt exciting!:rotfl: :rotfl:
Edit: another question - how do you slice runner beans?? diagonally, thin/thick - or does anyone have one of those bean slicers?? are they any good? I've tried slicing diagonally.0 -
Annie Booklover - I do so agree about hoping the poor creature was ok. Felt really sick for ages about it, but not able to get through hedge into adjoining woodland. Almost worse than if I'd killed it outright. Horrible feeling.Resolution:

Evening :hello:
Penny-Pincher!!, so sorry about your aunt. 58 is no age, is it. Nelski, sorry to hear about your uncle too. Hugs to you both ((((hugs))))
Shez:I personally didnt answer your question because I dont know the answer:oI haven't been around much lately either, so it's really tricky to keep track of people's questions. Anyway, you listen to me, YOU ARE NOT GOING ANYWHERE
Well, I'm having a good day. Had my loo fixed, for a very reasonable price, by a fab plumber. So it now flushes again, and I now know where to find a good plumber :j Isn't it funny how, when flushing the loo becomes a chore (i.e. having to fill a bucket of water from the bathtaps and throwing it down) suddenly you need to go to the loo ALL the time :rotfl:
I now have a chicken roasting in the oven - thanks to an Asda yellow sticker I got a free range organic one yesterday for £3 :j so I shoved some lemon, garlic and butter up its jacksie and basted it over the top with more of the same plus some white wine  It smells yum  Will have some for dinner tonight with new potatoes and salad, and the rest will be for sandwiches and perhaps even a pie
Hope the funeral went well taplady, and the court appearances PenPen and N9eav.
Love Rzl xx :wave:Operation Get in Shape

Um Shez, if you want to come round for a cuppa, can you wait till my flat's tidy?
On second thoughts, that could be taken the wrong way (i.e. it's NEVER going to be tidy) :rotfl:

Shez, I tend to use fine beans instead of runner but I imagine cutting them diagonally would do the trick. Not much use really, am I?"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."
