Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 17/09/07 This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning. No one started yet. Just a quick post as I have to go and make the packed lunches. A job which I dislike very much.
Sunday was quite relaxing and I think my 3 day weekend has started me right for Monday. I have a trial starting today at Crown court, so I hope my case gets a conviction. Another druggie locked up is never a bad thing.
I have started some plum wine off yesterday, so 5 gallons to watch and ferment over the next few months. I am hoping to pick some elderberries after work and get them in before they disapear.
welll folks have a nice day

Morning N9eav & all to follow
I too need to make packed lunches x2. The rest of the week will be done the night before which is much better.
Good luck at court today.
Weather is meant to be a bit chillier today which I dont mind if it remains dry. Doesnt really matter to me today as shall be in the office for most of it.
DS has footie training tonight so need to work out how am going to do dinners - hate having separate meal times. His team won 4-0 yesterday and ds scored the last goal, doesnt normally as he plays in defence.
Best be off need to check bank balances.
Have a good one.

Goodmorning N9eav & all to follow,
I've just said goodbye to DGS. He's been here a day longer than planned. The last 5 days have been lovely. Probably take me all this week to recover. He'll be back in 3 weeks time for a fortnight. I made our HM granola & choc mix after lunch. They've become a firm favourite and even with the warmer weather we're still drinking the hot choc.
Ali What a beautiful baby. Ouch though.
Happy Belated Birthday wishes to those who had birthdays yesterday. I hope you had a lovely day.
N9eav Hope you get a conviction too.
Plans for the rest of the day is to do as little as possible. I'm a bit tired atm. Hope you all have a happy day. ByeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -

Morning everyone
N9eav hope you get the conviction, though you do have to wonder what good prison will do when we keep hearing of the drug problems in prison, etc. As you say though, at least it is one less on the streets. BTW plum wine sounds *very* fruity. Yum.
Essex-girl I hate having to make dinner for different people at different times too. Could you make one big dish of something like chilli that can easily be reheated?
Aussie glad you had a lovely time with DGS. Give yourself today to recover.
Amie well done on the weight loss. :T
((((hugs)))) to anyone who needs/wants one.
:hello: to those missing in action - Queenie, Snowy, FBThree, et al. Please come back.
I woke up at 6.00 and couldn't get back to sleep so here I am. DD's lunch was made last night and I am taking a flask of roasted veg soup to w**k for lunch so am sorted on that front. DS will buy lunch at school.
I have done my 200 situps for the day so I only have to try and get some time on the exercise bike before I leave and then I will try and do some more when I get home tonight. I'm beginning to feel the benefit of it but these dark mornings are making it harder to get motivated. Still, I have you lot to keep me going. :T
Panic is over re the Rugby World Cup. Saw last night that the Scotland match will be shown on ITV3 so that's Tuesday night taken care of.
While I was making DD's lunch last night I decided I may as well get started on today's dinner. So, I have had some chicken and veg marinading in a jalfrezi sauce overnight. I don't like chicken cooked in the SC so I only have to pop it in the oven when I get home and dinner is done!
Boss is back today so I am sure that the day will fly for me. Only a week till payday too. :j Feeling the pinch this month after the horrendous MOT bill. BTW shez any news on your car?
Have a marvellous Monday. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Good Morning N9eve and all to follow, Not a bad week-end overall.Went to DD's saturday night for supper and enjoyed that .yeasterday after the district nurse had been and re-dressed wounds I had a good couple of hours with my feet up doing my favourite occupation, reading.I finished of the 'My Places' book by Sally Morgan about three generations of Aboriginal women .That was quite interesting .The as I had managed to get it from the Library I thought I would have some R&R and read the latest Stephen King book 'Liseys Story'.I used to be quite a fan of Mr King but I think his style has changed quite a bit .I know he had a serious accident a couple of years ago, and his writing has become more fantasy than horror .I'm not sure if I enjoy it or not, as he seems to be making his own language up as he goes along. Its not a bad book and there are a lot of flashes of his own self in it but he has definitley changed his style since the acciden.Perhaps a brush with his mortality has tipped his very active brain slightly askew .I don't know ,are there any S.King readers on this site ?. I think he seems to have strayed away from normality a bit .I mean he always was a bit on the odd side, but his last few books have really become very peculiar.
Anyway enough already of chuntering on about writers.
Today I am hoping that the boiler service man will arrive this morning for the yearly service of the central heating ,then this afternoon I have a jolly few hours waiting in the local clinic to see the breast care team Doctors about my wound, and why its not closing .I am due to strat chemo a fortnight today and I don't think it will start whist its still open .Tomorrow I have my best friend and sis-in-law coming for a few days to visit. She is actually my brothers ex-wife but I have known her for over 30 years and even though they divorced 20 years ago we are still the best of friends.
Her DD and family live in Dubai, and she isn't going out there until mid-November, so it makes a nice change for her to come down from London to the country to see me.We shall do some serious conservatory-sitting and chin-wagging for a few days.
Hope everyone has a nice Monday, even though its a bit damp at the moment .<<<hugs>>> to those who need them and a big fatto the rest of you.

P.S. only 98 days tomorrow until Christmas Day:beer:

I'm off to Court today, too. Trying to convince the Judge to reduce the payments for a severley ill man living on benefits, down from £450/month  Dentist after school. I then have a Scout meeting this evening, so DH is in charge of serving the quiche I made yesterday.
Hasn't it turned colder all of a suddenI'll be firing up the Rayburn later, and filling the log baskets. The Rayburn is fab, as during the cooler months, we have it on low permanently, so I use it as a slow cooker.
Have a great day, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -

Morning All
Busy day for me. Got to go to the doctors this morning to get a note to say he meant me to have 21 days off work sick not 19 as work has assumed and so docked my pay by nearly £100:mad: Then got to go to the solicitor this afternoon to start the searches on my flat. Need to ask them to rush them as I need to be completed or near completion by October 4th. Hope it all goes ok.
Was going to do petrol today, but leaving that till tomorrow, as I have to go to town tomorrow for work, so they can pay me to get petrol too!:D Have a 5p off litre at Mr T, so that'll save me a little bit for the pin pot.
Got my lunch in my bag, so that should tide me over until I get home.
Hope everyone has a good dayComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0
