Thanks all again for your thoughts.:A

Mrs Mix that is seriously impressive annibooklover is right the talent on here is awesome.

Shez - can I just say I have known how you feel many times and in fact at times have got worried that people just dont like me or are ignoring me like you have today. This weekend though I have been innudated with kind thoughts and wishes from my virtual OS friends and quite honestly it has humbled me. I personally didnt answer your question because I dont know the answer:o (which does go for most OS questions asked im afraid :cheesy:) Please dont go though because actually you are a very highly valued member of the daily thread team and I for one would really miss your posts. (and particularly your avatar which brightens my day every time  )

    Afternoon all,

Huge hugs to those not feeling well and those who have been bereaved.

Shez....apologies if I was one of the people who ignored you...tend not to try to answer questions I know nothing about...please don't leave us

Mrs Mix...will be shouting (very loudly) for help next month as I have promised to do a Spider Man cake for DGSs birthday...got 'instructions' the other day on net, but not too confident about it...might do a practice run on some other character in the meantime.

Spent more money on food to-day so am now down to €29.30 until 30th....and will be feeding a 200k Queenslander for five days...he will get a lot of hm soup and puddings to make up for meagre meat supplies. This is the guy who had the cheek to bring me the book of the CSIRO diet last time he came!

Colder here to-day...in spite of that I have sown carrots, mixed salad, florence fennel and more radishes to-day, these square foot gardening boxes are really encouraging, as you are just watching small amounts of everything.
Little does OH know that he has to make me about 10 more before Spring!

Haddock, sweetcorn (bought as ours died as soon as it germinated) mixed salad from garden and steamed potatoes followed by steamed jam sponge for dinner to-day.

Still knitting although slowing a bit as I am fed up doing the shrug...taken me almost two weeks, which is way more time than I can afford for one present.

    Love to all

    Afternoon all

What a dark and dank day - although I do love this time of year - makes me feel all snug.

PP and Nelski - sorry to hear about your losses - and your accident Nelski - hope you're ok

Shez - don't you go anywhere - or else. Seriously, I love reading your posts and as Nelski said - the avatar really does brighten up my day :D

As for that cake Mrs Mix - wow!!!! How long does it take to do that?

Feeling quite virtuous today - got all the ironing done and up to date - did friends too, all whilst watching a dvd. House has been swished and swiped and there's now a joint of pork smelling gorgeous in the oven - roast pots, parsnips, sweet pots, roasted onions, green beans, carrots and stuffing all ready to go - I even made some fresh apple sauce - really looking forward to eating it now and trying to resist opening the wine for a "chefs privilage".

Been great to watch the frogs all swimming arcross the pond today after cleaning it out yesterday - my god did it need it - the smell was vile but looks fab now.

Splashed out last night and booked a "lapland" experience at a local forest in December -looks fantastic - can't wait. You get boarded onto a "flight" sim and they "fly" you to Lapland - When you emerge you're in the snow covered forest and have to search for Santas house - just hope the DD1 can keep her mouth shut and not spoil it for DD2 who's a big believer.......we're going to do an evening flight so the forest will all be lit up...........:j

Right - must go check the pork - hope you all have a great evening.

    Hi Pooky
not long really made the cake yesterday and today covered it in that roll out fondant icing piped the lines on after inverting the cake mould onto the cake to get the lines and then I mix up icing sugar with colour and a little water to a thick paint consistancy and then paint it on with special brushes took me about 1 and 1/2 hours

    Afternoon Everyone

Boy, we do seem to be having a run of bad luck today, (((hugs))) to all with losses, lumps, bumps, etc., Sympathies with you all but permission to be excused this run.

Great Weekend, weather held, good entertainment in the marquee, and then dancing, these 70 year old can show some of the younger ones the way home I tell you!

Birthday wishes to anyone today or over the weekend.

Had DS home so that was good, now back in Cheltenham, after utilisation of washer/dryer/fridge. Managed to persuade him to go through his wardrobes still here and get of what he won't wear, so now trying to decide if it is worth trying to ebay some of them, or just charity shop it and gain space quick! (DH's perferred option). He has been vgood today spring cleaned me the kitchen and the small bedroom ready for the guests, I emptied it of surplus to cupboard items:rolleyes: now trying to find a home for these in DS's old room which I am taking over as my office come PC come second lounge, and making a new bedroom for DH in the small bedroom, only trouble is we now need a new floor in there:o before we can start! The loft has acquired some more items too!

The Panny BM arrived this pm. Its on now, via me reading the instructions and DH doing it. He is a bread fan, and isn't coping as well as I am with doing "nowt"! My list of jobs to do still keeps getting longer not shorter!! Loaf should be cooked around 9 pm tonight, so will keep you posted.

Better get back to it, that's why I didnt post earlier.

    Take care.

Shez - sometimes things get lost in the general chit chat so if you don't get a response then try starting your own thread on the specific subject -that's what i do anyway :)

Have ordered more sock wool in the hopes that that spurs me on - I think i will start putting my progress in my signature. went to lidl today and found that butter and flour were still at last week's supermarket prices so will be getting some of my staples there from now on.

Essex-girl - i love winter food - so much easier providing somethng warming and filling than trying to constantly tart up salad

popped into middle dds and found my long lost coat there - apparantly she borrowed it one night about three months ago - was beginning to worry htat i might actually have to buy one for the first time in five years

    have a good evening all
