    Fingers crossed for you heavenleigh

no w*rk for me today as usual - love mondays :) I have seen a job that I want though and I would have to go back to full time if I did it - it's a 6 grand payrise though. I need to calculate how much this will affect tax credits but i think i will go for it anyway as the job does look interesting. they will do a typing test though so I need to brush up on my .... ahem ... skills. I will also have to wear a proper suit and shoes.

not much planned today except for cleaning and tackling the urban jungle outside my back door .... oh and the never ending sock knitting of course

    have a great day everyone

Taplady hope the funeral goes as well as can be expected xx
Heavenleigh, thinking of you, will keep you in my thoughts.

Well I have had a quick swipe round this morning, My neck is still so sore, so not up to much today, was going to make soup but that can wait untill tomorrow.
I have a Dr's appointment this morning, found a lump in my breast, which has since dissapeared, but thought it best to get it checked out, will also mention my neck, and see if they can give me any pain killers, ibprophen (sp) just dont touch it, I am hoping that the lump will just be a hormonal one, fingers crossed.

Scampi and chips tonight BOGOF at Mr S, easy to do as I cant even turn my head, driving is very interesting, I dont know about you, but I always feel that ive cheated when I don't cook properly, but still its not often.

Got a cheque through for £50 on saturday, took out some home insurance with barclays, and got cashback, spent it on ebay last night, got DD a digital camera for xmas, £69, but sells in the shops for £150, so pleased with that, she will just get a few stocking fillers to top up, as the camera was so expensive.
Well of to DR, I hate getting my b**bs out but its for the best, will post when I get back,

Love to all, and special hugs to jackieo xxxx

    Good Morning All

    Good luck at court N9eav
Aussielass - enjoy your recovery time! You'll need your strength for the 2wks you've got DGS.
Amie - lucky you being taken out for dinner!
Mrsmcawber - Im sure after peeling all those carrots, you'll certainly be able to see in the dark!
Anniebooklover - well done on those sit ups, wish I'd got your motivation & determination.
JackieO - thanks for the reminder - countdown for Xmas!
Dlb - sounds like you had fun yesterday at football!
Pen Pen - good luck at court also, lets hope something good comes out of it for this chap!
Tiredmum - good luck for the interview tomorrow!

(((hugs))) to those who need them.
Sorry I wasn't around at the wk end.
Saturday, took mum's cat to the vets for her yearly jabs & check over, then my car had its MOT, which passed with flying colours.
Washing, ironing, helping DS with his 3 projects he has for school.
Shopping, aswell as making a start on putting some homemade wedding invitations sample cards together, I have at leat 4 possibilities of wedding stationary orders to do!

OH did a car boot on sunday, I joined him about 9am, armed with bacon butties for him! We came away with £23.50 profit. Whoo hoo! Not much to retire on, but better than nothing I guess!
Then we went to fetch a second hand tv, to replace the one which the colour tubes have gone! It's mega huge! It would have cost as much to get the old one repaired, thats why we decided to buy second hand!

Ive spoken to a few people who have said there is a viral bug going around, symptoms are like the mumps. Dr's are prescribing ant-biotics and complete bed rest! I thought it was strange as Dr's dont normally give medication out for Viral's.

Anyway, the roast Lamb which we should have had for yesterday, we will have today.
DD is at Judo later, so she can afterwards.
Best get ready for work now
    Have a great day
    Love Emma xxx

  • Morning all :hello:

The usual Monday morning panic this morning despite being ultra organised last night.

Just sat down with a coffee so thought I'd post.

DW emptied, WM on with second load, beds made, fire cleaned out and relaid and kitchen cleaned. Just floors and bathroom left to do and might fit in a few windows today if I [strike]can be bothered[/strike] have the time. :D

Also have a fair bit of work to do for OH. Decded not to go into office though as my hacking cough is still quite unnatractive. :o

It is lovely and windy so my washing should dry fairly quickly and I have promised myself I will iron tonight if it does. (some hope)

Made enough roast chicken and veg last night to have again tonight so tea is easy and I might do a spag bol in the Sc for tommorrow when hopefully I should be back at the office.

Re Christmas JackieO...I picked up a few £1 toys and stationery sets for the girls from MrT on Saturday so I can actually say I've started my Christmas shopping. ;)

    Fingers crossed for you Heavenleigh!!

Never thought I'd say this on Old Style but Good luck to those of you going to court. ;):D (seriously Pen Pen and N9Eav, I know it's a serious business, so I hope you get the results you want.)

Taplady, I hope the funeral goes as well as it can. x

Pen Pen....I am soooooo jealous of your Rayburn. When we put on our extension to create a family room off the kitchen I am going to move my dresser in there so we can expose the fireplace again. I would love a Rayburn but I think a woodburner is more likely.

Talking of the extension..which is all stiil in my head at the mo.......I got a lovely pair of french doors (brand new) on Freecycle yesterday so I feel like we have made a start and that should save us a bit when the time comes. :j

Take care everyone, and special hugs to Pink who had a rough day yesterday. Remember the wise words of our dear old mum? "Don't let the barstads get you down" ;) :A :kisses3: :D

    Morning all,

Essex girl, when we have busy evenings like you do tonight, I try to do a one pot meal so everyone can help themselves when they get in.
Aussie, glad you had a good time with dgs.
Jackie O, good luck at the clinic today.
Pen Pen, I so envy you your Rayburn
Heavenleigh, fingers crossed that your results will be good news.
    Gingham, belated birthday wishes. xx
Haribo, thank you for yesterday. :kisses3:

It’s a bright morning here but rain is forecast so I have a load of washing out and I’m hoping to get it dried before it rains.

The plumber has arrived to fix the boiler….he’s getting on a bit and is actually well past retirement age but we’ve always thought he does a good job for a fair price. But this morning I’m not sure. He’s just spent 10 minutes complaining that he can’t get near the pump and will have to knock down part of the boiler house and saying that the person who put the boiler in must have been a real cowboy. When I said that it was him who put the boiler in he denied it completely. Oh well, hopefully we’ll have heating by the time he’s finished.

All three children went off to school this morning with no problems and now I need to do the Monday morning clear up after the weekend. I have to pop out to get some shopping as I promised ds2 that we could bake again this afternoon but I’m running short of some things we’ll need. I’m working tonight so just reheating the left over lamb with some veg and potatoes for tea.

I hope you’re all having a good day.

    Take care,

    Pink

Morning all.......((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))) if you need one....

A dull morning and quite cool have a jumper on for the first time for ages......

Yesterday we had a burglary here in the complex, general opinion seems to be it was an 'inside job' the person whose flat it was left the door unlocked when he went out, and 'someone' went in. Not sure of the full story, but it is worrying. As you know we had to have our door lock changed when we came home and found out door unlocked, but nothing missing.......I am also concerned that of someone gets in via the front door by saying its the post etc they could quite easily push past some of our frailer residents........form now on I will not open the door unless I know who is outside. We are not allowed to have chains on the door because of access in an emergency.....

Quick trip to the shopping centre this morning. I forgot to get some of my medication last week when we went up. Also need to collect and return some library books and have a look at the price of spuds in Tesco.........we have used all our main crop, just have salad spuds left now.

I sat last night and finished my friends birthday present.......well in time its her birthday a week tomorrow, just have to get a card and some wrapping paper. We have a stall on the market that sells nice paper and cards, so will be having a look later in the week.

Right its after 9.30am so we can use our free bus passes......see y'all later....
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.
  • Good morning everyone,

Amie399 - well done on your weightloss!
Taplady - Sorry for your loss, hope that the funeral isn't too painful for you.
Heavenleigh - Hope that the call comes and its the news that you want.
Redruby - good luck at the doctors.

Thank you for all your kind comments on my lovely son, he's an hour away from being 5 days old and i'm still amazed that he's a boy!

No more pictures for a while as we've managed to loose the digital camera  We think that it was left at the hospital as we were in a bit of a rush to leave as our dd was a bit upset, i've called them and they don't seem to have it but to be fair they have been so busy someone else could have it, i'd be suprised if anyone has stolen it but perhaps we've lost it in the mess that is our house. DH has taken dd to nursery and is then going to go and buy a new one, we're just worried about missing out on the early pictures - this will also guarentee that the hospital will call later saying that they have it! My mil sent us some money to pay for a pram that we bought, this was completely unexpected so he'll use some of that money to buy it.

There is nothing OS going on here today, apart from lots of breast feeding that must be os? My milk still isn't in much to George's annoyance! Any tips for speeding that up would be appreciated!

Just had a call from DD's nursery, she has a rash and has to be picked up. We could do with a little peace which I know sounds mean! My other concern is that she's coming down with something and George could catch it.
She was fine this morning, I think its probably just a viral rash as she's been teething recently, fingers crossed. The whirlwind will be back soon!

Have a good day all, ((hugs)) to all that need it.
