If the fridge is at a lower than average temperature, and it looks, and smells ok.
I would, but nuke it thoroughly first, just in case.
I left a chilli out on one friday, forgot about it and went to visit friends fior a few days. it had grown a lovely woolly green beard when I got back (approx 3 days? later), so was binned.
Refrigerated should be fine though.Smile, why not.0 -
Wow, differing opinions! I've eaten it now... hopefully I'll be ok! Cooked it in the microwave for about 8 minutes, stopping roughly every 3 minutes to check it. It was piping hot, I burnt my tongue! it smelt fine (really nice, in fact!). I thought as I'd cooked it on the day of purchase (rather than waiting till the mince was at it's use-by date, for example), it would be fine.0

3 days is my maximum for meat. Next time freeze it in small potions which defrosts well from frozen. I always freeze leftovers within an hour after dinner unless they are in the menu plan... pretty much everything can be frozen, and defrosted in the microwave or on the hob. Just a moneysaving habbit i picked up which worksWe spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. Well I've lived to see another day! :-)
I'm not sure I'd eat 5-day-old food again though, I spent all of yesterday paranoid. I went swimming at about 7pm and started to feel dizzy. I got really worried, until I realised I'd just exercised after not eating for 6 hours!
I would usually freeze things like that but I'd planned to eat it over the weekend and didn't. Will make sure I do in future, just to put my mind at rest!0
