five day old mince - That's chancing it. Due to the far greater surface area, bacterial activity is liable to be a lot higher in stuff like mince.

And piping hot is garuntee of safety - A lot of common contaminents leave secondary toxic byproducts that cannot be destroyed by heat and are often far worse than the bacteria that originated them.

  • I think 3 days would be the maximum I would go to with that kind of meal.

I'd eat it if it still smells ok! as long as you cook it through it should be fine (I've eated week old leftovers and not been ill)

Nope. 3 days max for me. Moneysaving is not worth it if it makes you ill!
Trying very hard to be frugal and OS - just plodding on and doing my best!

  • I would eat it,

The fresh ingredients were probably already many weeks old by the time you bought them anyway. so long as there is no bad smell, and it looks ok, it is probably fine. The colder it was stored at the better too.
