Pigpen that link is great for me too.I'm a carer as well, there's quite a few of us on this site and I tell as many other carers to come on here as I can.
I've had a busy morning baking hobnobs and onion/garlic bread.I've given up on the weather ,the washing will just have to be tumble dried.I want to get the ironing out of the way for the weekend so we can relax and fingers crossed have the last barbecue of the year.I'm defrosting frogs (spatchcocked poussions):rotfl: for marinating.

    Hello everyone :)

Pigpen do you have details on how to apply for these 'Carers Grants' It might be worth me getting it put in the support group news letter next month, I've never heard of them either.

Well so far I've done the headless chicken routine. Ran the vacuum cleaner round downstairs again this morning in between DS1 getting on his bus and taking DS2 to school which is working well so far as it gets something done I used to do when I got back from school. Went to library to return books (inc one we thought DS1 had lost he's had for nearly a year) collected boxes from freecycler so that's another 6 to fill up at some point over the weekend. Sister called, needed to borrow money again so went there (and had a cuppa and a natter) she said house we're looking at is 'snobby' :rotfl: Off from there 10 mile to Tesco collect DS2s specs, petrol in and few bits of shopping I couldn't get yesterday (only spent £12, I think that's a first for me in Tesco to spend under £50) Collected parcel from royal mail then cheated and went to chinese to get dinner :o I know, I know I'm naughty but they do cheap lunch time deals and I was passing. Got back unpacked some of shopping (one more bag to do which I will do in a mo) ate dinner & collapsed in a heap :D Oh yes it poured down until I got home so I'm soaked through, oh joy. Phew I think that is all, apart from sorting kids/dogs

Got a call today to ask us to collect my new car after 11.30am Monday, because of the massive list of jobs DP wanted doing on it (inc stone chip damage & scratches sorting etc) they've ended up painting most of the car :rotfl: They did say they would sort any cosmetic issues, bet they wish they haddn't said it when DP filled in an A4 sheet of paper.

    Still to do

Strip DSs beds and get in wash, put spare linen on
    Dogs out before school
    Collect DS2 from school
Clear coffee table, I might throw it out actually as I'm sick of it being dumped on
Clear dining table, also been dumped on
Fill one box/bag to keep and one box/bag to get rid of (my daily challenge)
Dinner, meatballs & sauce, depending what time DP comes back for dinner
    Homework with DS2
    Uniforms in wash
Find covernote to send back to previous insurer

Collapse in the bath, my me time after the boys go to bed. Might book myself a hairdressers appointment for next week aswell, can't see through the front of it now.
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb

I got my brood home.. in the rain!!

Lil_me.. I was told about the grant by the east riding ASD support group.. I'll have to fling them an email to ask about applying.. I'm not sure about the process. Right.. you have to contact your individual council for it.. it is now £350 this year and you can only apply once every 3 years. google search 'carers grant' and whatever council area you are in.. "carers grant essex" and it comes up with the relevant details!! Hope this helps some of you out there.. I might have to apply as well.. I'll be able to have a weekend away with hubby and farm the children out to anyone who'll have them.. it is meant to be for the carers to spend on themselves so I can do that and not feel bad (more likely it will pay off another debt though!)

Thanks pigpen found that link very useful as i'm a carer to 2 people.:T
Got a little side tracked and was looking at pre school and it say's something about when a child reaches the age of 3 they are intitled to get a place at playgroup ect and it is for a few hours a week and it doesn't cost. Is that right??? My youngest was 3 in july and is stating school next september (reception class) he's very clingy and shy, already say's he doesn't want to go to school. It would be great if i could get him in somewhere for half a day a week at a playgroup but can't really afford it at the minute. I think it could ease him in to going to school.

Haven't done much on the flying end but have done all my running about and will be in the rest of the evening so will crack on then (once there all in bed).
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

Best do a spot of flapping before my house devolves into a state of disrepair!

They are entitled to half a day from the term after they are 3 years and a full day from age 4.. most private nurseries/preschools/school nurseries would giv ehim a place. Tiddles is 3 in November and will be starting a half day place in January.. YYYIIIPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ... I'll be so sad to see my baby go up to nursery... can you tell?? *sniff*

Give a few a ring, go have a look round and see which you like.. :D .. it is most liberating!! .. and the tears every drop-off for the first 6 weeks.. they are to send mummy on a guilt trip.. they shut up 2 seconds after you are out of sight!!
