I have one in the shed that keeps looking at me saying i could make your life sooo much easier.:rotfl:
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

frankie, I feel the same as you!

Come dinner time, i feed the hungry masses, get the kids to bed then i just want to veg!

I feel lazy compared to this lot! hehe!

Then again, we don't have dishwashers do we?

Hubby finally caved so I will get a tumble dryer soon as we get a hut to store it... wonder if he will let me get a dish washer too? And a cleaner...

Oh, and anyone recommend a good toilet training seat? I have a cheap one, but its not stable enough. DS2 can only balance with his left side, and yesterday he slipped off and will not go near it again. OT says I have to try and get one myself as they have none at the moment!

Tia.. Have you tried contacting the local special schools? Or ESPD? they usually have a few 'spares' which they'll lend you until OT find one. Also if you get DLA you could try applying for a grant to buy one for him yourself. AND did you know there is a grant you can apply for if you are receiving carers allowance.. it is a one off £300 payment.. you have to go through the DLA people and it takes a while.. HTH

    Pigpen, wow.

I was going to try him with a 'regular' seat, OT was talking about putting in a bar next to the toilet (though as his left is his good side, and the wall is at his left, he would still have trouble wiping and holding on), but I think I would prefer to do this is a last resort.

What is this grant your talking of? We just received our first Family Find grant last month.

yea, I get CA and he gets middle rate DLA for personal care.

We get middle rate personal and lower rate mobility for DS2. this was only introduced last year so not many people are aware of it and they certainly don't go advertising it!!

I have a couple of friends whose children have ADHD and they claimed it.. HTH

Might he be better with a rail to hold on to at the right side.. so he can support himself and use his left good side to wipe and stabalise himself?

    thanks for the hugs guys

Tia thanks for that on DS, never thought that he'd be clearing his chest, doh! Seems ok now, not been sick again and hes not running a temp, think he just needs a bit of tlc but will watch him like a hawk as they can go down hill so quickly.

Well, nothing done off the list. DS is clingy so can't do anything and had a constant stream of visitors. The boiler people came out within half an hour - how good is that - but the boiler is dead and can't be fixed until Monday. But everything is covered so thats a relief. Will be writing a strongly worded letter though about us being without water/heat over weekend.

Just eating lunch (soup and HM bread) and then going to order DS some stuff from ELC online, found a 20% off code on here so pleased about that!

Pigpen, thanks a lot for the link! I'm off to look!

Tracy, when DS2 was younger (he is 2) I used to wrap a towel round him and make him cry till he was sick, only way to get all the mucus up. You can tell when thats whats made him sick, its mucus-y. I got him to cry by waving calpol in front of him, he hates medicine, have to wrap him in a towel, pin him down and use a syringe to give it to him. No matter how far back I get the syringe, he still manages to spit some in my face! I'm not looking forward to the winter coughs and colds!

    Glad he is feeling better!

Oh-oh! I need to go to asda! Bets get it done and out the way. Then tackle the kids room. its still being decorated...
