I see exactly what you are saying, Gforce, and in no way is my criticism of 'the system' aimed at you, personally.
Unfortunately, understanding what you are saying and actually agreeing with it are two entirely separate issues. We could spend months debating whether or not Councils are making efficient use of their resources and, indeed, the whole issue of how 'local government' is funded.
But that is not my issue - Councils, including my OWN local Council (West Wiltshire District Council) make great play on the fact that they are 'Investors in People' and in their commitments to various 'Charters' including those which entail dealing with the public.
IF Councils have such accreditations, or are signatories to 'Customer Charters' then they should direct sufficient resources into maintaining the standards required for those accreditations and for upholding 'Charter Conditions' or have those accreditations or 'charter' rights removed.
I accept that the world is far from 'Ideal' but the world in which mumoftwins finds herself is certainly 'Real', as is the one that I inhabit.
It is, therefore, entirely reasonable to expect that mumoftwins, or anyone else for that matter, is treated in the manner that the Council would have us believe is the manner in which they are committed to treat her.
The evidence of this thread would suggest that she is not.

I'm not taking your comments personally (wow theres a phrase I say alot at work!) so I hope I'm not coming across as though I do.:D
I do understand where you're coming from and I also have my own thoughts about council funding & efficiency but as you said that is an entirely different thread!

I agree people should be treated respectfully but I also believe that respect should go both ways. People shouldn't feel it's ok to scream abuse at me just because I haven't given them the answer they want or given a decision straight away.

    Anyway I'll shut up now!

Ha ha ha :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: nit comb has been in good use this morning! Apparently the lotion I was recommended by the chemist drowns the little blighters and then coats them in the stuff making it easy to comb them out:eek:   .

Got to use it again in 7 days - so thats another £15 to spend on such delightful products!!!

I just used to wash my sons hair everyday and comb the conditioner through with a nit comb.

I got one of those combs that zap the lice with an electric current, it cost me £15 from argos and it's been really good. I don't bother with the lotions anymore (I'm sure my kids nits became immune to it).

Hi gforce - tried that a few years ago but the twins hated it, maybe now they're older they would be better with it??

DD has chin length really thick hair, she used to have it longer but it was a nightmare to keep tidy as she wouldn;t let me touch it  so she always looked like she a nest of vipers on her head:rotfl: so earlier this year I got it cut to chin length. Hopefully this will be the start of her becoming a 'young lady' and wanting her hair to look nice. Keep trying to get her to comb it 100 times morning and night - she looks at me as if I'm mad ;) . Have also asked her to put loads of conditioner on her hair when she washes it but as she won't let in the bathroom I can only hope that she will now take notice of me!!

DS also has thick hair but keeps it short so he's not too much of a problem.

Has it been sent to an in house medical assessor or to an external dr/assessment centre? If it's external do you know where it has been sent?

I don't know - I thought it was an in-house person as I didn't realise they sent them out too, so I don't know. How could I find out without ringing HLO and asking her?

I don't think you could find this out without asking tbh. Alot of councils use external assessors, sorry I just assumed from your earlier posts that they would be using someone in-house.

From what has been said I seem to think that it is an inhouse person as my Dr sent a letter earlier in the year and I was told by a friend who had had dealings in this way with the council that she (the Councils medical advisor) is a bit of a rottweiler:eek:
