I agree people should be treated respectfully but I also believe that respect should go both ways. People shouldn't feel it's ok to scream abuse at me just because I haven't given them the answer they want or given a decision straight away.
On that point, Gforce, there can be absolutely no disagreement. It is further proof, should any be needed, that there is something fundamentally flawed with a 'system' that puts anyone in a position where 'emotion' will inevitably take over if the expected response is not given.
There is absolutely no need to 'shut up now', Gforce. I notice that whilst, quite naturally, defending the position of HLO's in general, you have given mumoftwins some excellent advice and well needed moral support in this thread.
You have also, very commendably, answered the criticisms of mot's HLO as if they were aimed at all HLOs, which they are not.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

I find people are much more emotional about everything thesedays! I blame the 'I want it all' generation!
You're right rog2 I have taken the criticism as against LHOs in general and tbh I could be defending an office that doesn't deserve it. But I see the other side of the counter and I know what an extremely difficult job they have so I'm a bit biased, lol.0 -

And I have found out that the Medical Report is sent out for assessment which apparently is NOT good news as the company they would possibly have used tend to be very harsh with their assessments :eek:Christians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -

Got to use it again in 7 days - so thats another £15 to spend on such delightful products!!!
Hi MOT just wanted to add my two penn'orth!
No need to fork out £15 for some special stuff. My DS is nearly 13 and my house has seen 3 outbreaks of the little blighters. The first time it happened I had a chat with our old Pharmacist (he was very good!) and he advised me on what to do... and it worked.
All you need is a cheap bottle of conditioner and a nit comb. Slather the conditioner on and comb through until you remove all the lice. This does not remove the nits but these take about 3 days to hatch. So what you do is comb again every 3 days to catch the eggs when they have hatched into new lice. Keep doing this every 3 days until you get no more lice coming out and then you are sorted!

"You can get a free high quality nit comb for children on prescription. "The NitFree comb is also available on prescription from your GP or from any prescribing health visitor, nurse of Pharmacist - It is listed in Part IXA (Appliances) of the current Drug Tariff as the Nitty Gritty NitFree Steel nitcomb with microgrooved teeth".
The nit comb is guaranteed for ever and if it breaks you can send it back and get a new one as many times as you need.
It's got special swirly bits to get the eggs. Just leave the details (as above) with the doctors receptionist and they arranged for it to be to collected it at the local chemist - so no need to see a doctor or anything. "
I agree with the above posts RE: the wet combing method cheap conditioner works better the runnier the easier it is to comb through. have tried normall conditioners but have been to thick.0 -
i know its slightly off topic but just had this in an emial from shelter and giving what we have all read of mot's story its a real easy way of donating whilst buying something that you would anyway.
