MoT, I had a very nice response on Friday....

    Hi,

I appreciate, more than you will know, your expression of concern.

I have spoken with Julia earlier today (maybe it's yesterday) and we are meeting later so that I can hear what she has to say at first hand. I'm looking to ensure a decision upon hearing that is both fair and just - principles that must prevail if we are to move forward in an age of equality and social justice.

Thank you for getting in touch - I will be supporting Julia and her family with as much influence as I can bring to bear in this case.

    Dacorum Borough Council

I can't come down to support you as I've got to be in work......but I will be there in sprit & on email / MSE!

    Love to all

    Floss xx

MM said that his former Mayoral contact said to expect the LA not to agree the appeal extension and that any evidence that comes in after will be too late!! Lets hope that the psychiatrist can get his report done pronto and that the solicitor ias able to extend appeal AND moving date!

Surely if the LA do NOT agree to an extension, they could, effectively, be denying you the right to present your evidence in full - which must be covered somewhere in the Human Rights Act?

Or could it be that they are worried that any further evidence is likely to re-inforce public opinion that they are, indeed, placing their own procedures above your personal needs, and rights?

What did the solicitor say about this, mot?

  • Heaven forfend that we have to go that far, but if the LA deny MOT's right to present ALL her evidence by not permitting a stay of hearing until a later date, then we shall take it to the European Court on the basis that DBC have denied her a basic human right to a fair hearing. The only problem is, where do they go if they are evicted? Staying at my place for a weekend, with the twins sharing the same bed is okay, but not a long term solution. The thought that we could be fighting this into 2008 is not a pleasant one and I hate seeing what this is doing to MOT. She won't mind me telling you that her mind is all over the place at present; her concentration levels and self esteem are at a very low ebb and I really do admire her determination not to let this get the better of her. How does she do it? She is a perfect example of that old adage that 'Women are the stronger sex.' Is that sexist, coming from a man?

Thank you I-T but strong is NOT what I am feeling at the moment! Made worse by trying to find DD 1940's style clothes for a school trip to Duxford tomorrow (Yes SF you could go and see them!) - in the end we have settled on a new black skirt (which she can wear for school) and her white polo shirt with one of I-T's ties (the St Trinians look springs to mind) and DS was easy school uniform with a tie of I-T's too. Honestly school trips cost a fortune and all the little bits that go with it:mad: .

Going back to I-T's soon when twins dropped at grandparents, then he and I going for dinner with his Dad and his sister - so a relaxing evening I hope!

That is great, mot - it also means that it was staring at everybody else, including some of those responsible for your current predicament, as well as the people who could do something to change it.
