It's so tiring sometimes isn't it PL! I've had a nap this afternoon, they didn't need or want one apparently!
I've listed two more things on eBay and both have bids :T
No money spent today :T

Drafting my plans up in word tomorrow, :T:eek::)
Shattered now, and full of yummy food courtesy of lovely DH cooking, bed time it is xMFW

Morning,
Sold an eBay item overnight, so that's another £41 in the pot! That particular item was a buy it now, all the others are bids ending on Thursday.
Need to check the accounts shortly, get DS to pre-school then DD and I are going for another foraging walk for kindling for the fire. It's teacher training day so she's back tomorrow.
Quite a dull update really!

Good Morning,
Up at silly o'clock again today with DS, yawwwwn.
Mortgage payment has gone out and hopefully this time tomorrow online banking will have caught up and we will have a true picture of how the land lies. Exciting times and I am feeling positive through the sleepy foginess.
Paypal money of £41 has been transferred over too.
Need a cuppa, take care xMFW

Sorry to read about your dad, but, in someways he has given you a gift. You have plans now that are totally due to your dad, so his spirit lives on. Have no doubt you will make to retire early. Go you!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
Morning All (although it feels more like afternoon, been up hours!)
Mortgage payment has gone out and I can officially say WE ARE IN THE 30s :j:T:T Mortgage balance as at today's date is £139,951.40
I couldn't be happier. Added to this, my MFW mission has an extra fire behind it. DH works for himself and is normally chilled, happy and loves his job. He works very physically hard, and sometimes has to deal with a lot of difficult people, but (unlike me) he keeps his cool and gets on with it. Last night, the poor man broke down in tears. He is exhausted, has been treated like sh!! one too many times on a particular site recently, and feels burnt out. We had a great chat about everything and he was more chipper this morning (never one to stay down for long) but it reminded me just why this journey is so important.
Sooooo, onto the plan:D (you knew there was going to be one)
8th February 2017 marks the two year anniversary of my MF diary beginning and our quest. I would love to be able to arrive at that date having knocked exactly £40k off the mortgage in those two years.
So the mission is to be at £131,000 by 8th February. It's only £8,900:o:o in three months :rotfl::rotfl: So how will we achieve this? The (loose) plan is as follows:
- £900 through our regular monthly OPs
- Our standard monthly payments knocks off about £300 a month, so £900 from those
- £1600 via savings made to (the already slim) household budget. This means eating from the stocks we have in, cutting back on the wine (a bit), being mindful before reaching for my purse and re-visiting all utilities etc again.
- £4000 from DH work - we haven't had any dividends for over a year now, but hopefully things are on the up and this is feasible
- £1,500 from ebay, gumtree, etc - selling whilst clearing clutter.
It is utterly bonkers, and I need a lie down just after typing it up. But if I don't try, I'll never know!
On that note, the money for the gold I sold last week has hit the account (£235) so I am going to OP that now.
Phew!

Love that you have a plan. As you know I am the queen of aiming high - and totally cheering you on.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Love the plan!
Also my sympathies to your DH - I'm always the one ranting/whining to my DH about job woes, he's way more laid-back than me (and really enjoys his coworkers, which helps him ignore any irritations).0
