Hi,managed to find you again, not sure how I "lost" you, maybe something to do with the change in the forumShame to hear the estate is ongoing, there was one with us, which took nearly 2 years and well you can imagine the expenses that went with it - only to say not much left by the end of it all. (sorry to be a downer).Great to see you keeping up with the 00 balance , not sure where that .50p appeared from, you need to watch them like a hawk. I remember they credited my mortgage with £20 when I went to bank to ask them - why ? - they couldn't tell me, then it turns out they were overcharging on something and this was a one off payment to rectify it, who knows, I could have been owed a lot more.Fantastic you are in the 70's now - I can feel your excitement waiting to log on tomorrow.Rounding down does help.Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.193

It's another beautiful day here ☀️😃 A load of washing is on the line, and the dogs bedding is on to wash now. Bathroom has been scrubbed and rooms tidied 🙌🏻
I am not quite sure what we will make of the supposed steep drop in temperatures we will have next week! Today's balance is £79,992.02 🍻🍻😁😁 I really really must limit OPs now to being funded by extra money earnt through eBay etc, I have sold £15 worth of bits this week but that paid for the bits in my eBay basket (clothes for the kids), so no gain there. The kids are happily chalking on the front path (too nice to be sat indoors doing work today IMHO), and I have had a leftover brekkie of a lonely egg, some spinach and a bit of feta cheese. Yum! I have meal planned for the next ten days and, aside from fresh F&V, we will be fine 👏🏻My work emails are pinging away in the background as I type this, a reminder that I am meant to be WFH although some days I achieve more than others! Uh oh the children are now bickering, I knew it wouldn't last long!I have a vague target in mind of being at £65k by year end 😱😱 I have zilch idea how I am going to do this (what's the going rate for kidneys? Children?!) but will carve something out I'm sure. Might as well push forwards and being as ambitious as possible!Take care all xx4 -
Wow - that is a stretching target! - but I always think there's no point in going for an easily achieved target - so aim high! x

Where oh where is time going? I am likening this lockdown period to those days of having a newborn; the days seem to drag but the weeks and months zip by quickly.
Things are ticking over here. DS is back at school full time (he is in Yr 1), DD is still at home (Yr 3). She is however now on the waiting list for a key worker place at school, so that I can go back to work rather than working from home. I am keen to get back into my school setting as soon as possible because I anticipate September will be fraught with anxiety otherwise. We haven't been spending much other than on food which has gone up dramatically. I have also used the time to do some "life admin ", and as such have sorted a new fix to take effect from 1st August. The large amount of overpaying that has been done over the past couple of years means that our new mortgage payments from that date will be £386 per month. I am absolutely delighted with this and of course we will continue to overpay every month, however it is good to know that if the worst was to happen we could still easily afford the mortgage.
I have sold a few bits on eBay recently, but the proceeds from these have been used to fund purchases for the children such as new summer clothes, shoes and ancillaries such as new bike helmets. All things that would normally have waited until the school holidays, however needs must now. They have both completely outgrown their uniforms so I am already anticipating a bigger September spend.Take care all xx5
