  • Morning all and thank you for the lovely welcome back :):) I really have missed you guys and posting on here.

Just sent an OP of £84.48 from "spare" housekeeping money for this month, to make it a nice round figure (hope you approve AFK :D). We are going out later today but it's all paid for by DH company so I don't plan on spending any money at all from our account.

I have worked out we need to OP £58 a day to get to the 70s by year end - and that doesn't take into account our standard monthly payments either so there is some wriggle room there.

I have a huge pile of kids clothes to eBay; really must tackle that this week (or maybe the following week when we have broken up and I have more time). Payday on Monday, thank goodness!

So aims for the coming week:
    - have at least 3 NSDs
    - list at least 4 things on eBay
    - keep on keeping on - only 5 days of term left
    - batch cook - this is tomorrow's task. I want to make a Bolognese, a tea loaf and a chicken pie.

    Have marvellous Saturdays all :T

  • Life does like to throw curveballs doesn't it; our washing machine has died. It was second hand and owes us nothing, but still....

:T Don't think I didn't notice :naughty: but thought I would give you a bit of a breathing space before commenting :rotfl::p

Shame about the washing machine, just heard about a place called FB Marketplace, not been on it yet,, but sounds right up my street.

Do you know why the washing machine has died? I only ask because ours died and I replaced but when the chap installed the new one and took away the old one he told me how he was going to fix it and resell it!! Had I spent longer on youtube I might have figured out the fix myself. The only reason I replaced was the call out charges were so high I thought by the time I had paid that and for the parts I could get another machine - but the fix would have been cheaper still :)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

You are quite right Watty, the same thing happened to me, and a button got stuck when moving into this house, that's all that was wrong, but the call out charge was high, so just bought a "new" second hand one.
