I don't even know what to say to that.
They were blooming irresponsible and they set both of them up to fail.
They were treating and allowing their daughter to behave like an adult at 14.:eek:
And they wonder why it went wrong!!0 -

Your son was an adult though! Why is he not responsible for his own poor behaviour?0 -

And to describe them both as "babies" minimises a criminal act.
At 19 he was the one who should have had more sense, regardless of her background which may have lead to her normalising the age diffference at that point.Save

Don't be fooled into thinking a child wakes up feeling or thinking any different on their 16th birthday than the night before, Nothing magic happens!!
He should have had more sense but he was deeply in loveWho hasn't been there?

Thank you - that's exactly what it was - poor judgement, poor behavior, a lack of maturity despite his age - nothing criminal!!0 -

16 is the magic age of consent. There's no age restriction on being an idiot though! Some people carry on their whole lives;)0 -
A mate of mine started dating someone aged 15. He was about 23 at the time. He looked a right sad idiot, tell the truth, with a schoolgirl on his lap.
We don't have the same culture here as the Asians do, for instance, where men finding young women attractive is not taboo nor frowned upon. It's just a given.0 -

Lots of criminal behavior goes unpunished! Grown ups flout the law and justify their doing so all the time.0 -
