    Taco bell fajita mix

I love OS! I was making fajitas for tea(used the piadines recipe here ) , reaslied I had no fajita mix - doh! So I came on here and searched the forum for "fajita seasoning".
Found this and post 3 above gave me exactly what I needed, thanks so much :T

I used a slightly modified list of ingredients and hubby said they were the best fajitas he's ever had - praise indeed. My ingredients were as follows:

    2 teasp chilli powder
    1 teasp salt
    1 teasp paprika
    ¾ teasp stock powder
    ¼ teasp cayenne pepper
    ¼ teasp cumin
    Large splash lime juice

I added pretty much all of that and it was perfect.:j

I buy a huge big tub of schwartz fajita seasoning from Costco. I think it costs about £4, and it lasts FOREVER. A lot cheaper than buying little jars of individual spices. We use it about once a week too and it last months.

i use paprika, cumin, oregano, cayenne, salt, a pinch of sugar and lime juice altering ratios according to which kids are eating it

We regularly have fajitas as they are quick and easy to make and very tasty too. We used to buy the packets of fajita mix from the supermarket, but were always disappointed by them.

We now use this, I found it so good I thought I would share:-

    100ml lager (optional)
    75ml Lime Juice
    1tbls Olive oil
    2 garlic cloves - crushed
    1 tbls brown sugar
    1 tbls worcestershire sauce
    1 tbls finely chopped coriander
    1/2 tsp ground cumin
    1/2 teaspoon red chilli flakes
    salt to taste.

I just put everything into a jar and give it a good shake and then pour over chicken & peppers about 3-4 mins before end of cooking.

I find it tastes so good, I just eat it out of the jar I mixed it in

I've never worked out the cost, but it would be cheaper than the packets.

If you don;t want to use lager, do you just replace it with water?
