Well I returned my LM gift sets today. I got to keep my Male Grooming voucher and the 500 points which I ain't complaining about.

In my local Boots there is a red 3 for 2 sign which states its for all LM products.

  • Bought 3 Aroma Bears at Broughton, Chester last night and used a double points voucher. Paid £7.48, got 618 Ad Card points and £3 male grooming voucher. Super duper!

I had a bit of an event in York buying these sets. The male cashier exclaimed that it was such a bargain that he was surprised i hadn't bought more ( i didn't like to mention the cupboard load i had at home), so of course couldn't resist and went to buy just a couple more sets.
However i made the big mistake of going to a different till, where the young girls eyes almost popped out of her head when she saw the total price. I said they were on a 'special promotion' 'They're never this special' she squawed. Her till collegue agreed that if it's on the till it must be the right price, but she wasn't having it and called the supervisor.
Now this is where i need hypnotherapy, because i heard the supervisor say ' Oh it's the same as .......... that goes through as less than the price of 1 also!' I keep playing the scenario in my mind to see if i can fill in the missing item! She said to put it through, so i paid; but this girl wouldn't let things lie and took the bag off me and said to follow her to see 2 other members of staff. After a couple of minutes deliberation i exclaimed that as i had paid i now wanted to leave , they could work the till out in there time not mine. Believe it or not the supervisor had to nudge this girl to give me my bag back saying ' the lady wants to leave!'
I could feel the girls eyes boring through me as i left the store.

I was so traumatised by this, i decided a couple of days later to try the Monks Cross store. Ths shelf was empty (ok , which MSE was it?) so i asked a nearby assistant who bought out one of each of the sets - apparantly 'there are quite a few in the store room' Lovely girl i thought as i left with arms ladden of goodies!
    How much ?????????!!!

i have noticed that it is mostly female shop assistants who have a problem when it comes to letting bargains go thru the till. same happens in asda!
    Nice to save.

My goodness, I can't believe the way houseofpat and bbford have been treated when buying LM!  There's always one person who takes others people's bargains as a personal insult...
But well done you two for standing up for yourselves! :T

in order to avoid harassment at the tills when you know you are getting a fantastic bargain,i shove a couple of boxes of tampons in my basket(always BOGOF ones of course)and then head for the nearsest male till assistant. They are so embarassed that they never question anything on the bill!

Went for some stuff in Newcastle today, picked up 3 x 14.99, got to till, gotta price of 22.47???? I queried the price as it was 3 for 2, she said it was right? Went to another till to double check, still the same, have they cottoned on?

Was in team valley branch yesterday and got 3 x 9.99 for 4.50??? So obviously worked there!
