But wait. a similar scenario has occured to that of the refunded toothbrishes a few posts back.
Instead of refunding me the £4.98. They refunded me £19.98.
I had paid by card and the lady asked for my card to put the refund back on to. I gave her my card and she put it in the machine, then handed it back with my reciepts, throughout the transcation nothing was mentioned about how much I was being refunded and I didn`t think anything of it.
Anyone out there a Little Britain fan? There's a bank clerk in it who refuses to do anything for the customers because "computer says 'no'"
Well, in Boots, it seems to be a case of "till says 'yes'" - and who are we, the lowly customer, to argue with that?0 -
Just bought the last three Little Me Sleep sets from Boots in Cheltenham, very happy to oblige them in clearing their shelves!
On the 'till says yes' front, I had to return some boxer shorts to M&S today as when they arrived hubby decided he didn't like them. They were the 'buy two packs, save 25%' ones that I bought online, but the girl at Customer Services scanned them through and refunded me their full price. I told her I hadn't paid that much for them in the first place, but she just told me to go, so I did! No wonder they are losing money hand over fist.0 -
LOL @ poorcat's comments...
The other day, I had to return something that cost £24 to Boots, but as I used a 10% voucher, I paid less. So when I gave it back, I was refunded the reduced price (which is what I expected, anyway!). The woman was a bit confused though, as she'd scanned the item and it came up with £24, and she had to ask me why I'd paid less...
I think this might be because, in one of my local Boots stores, they've got super-duper new tills and new funny receipts: when using a 10% voucher, the receipt shows the reduced price only (very clever, even though you only give the 10% voucher at the end!). Perhaps this is them trying to get rid of this loophole0 -
our tills do the same, so if i took something back that i'd used 10% on i'd get the reduced price back.52% tight0

Oh yeah, AND they took my points off my card, too! This was the first time ever they'd done that!
(Didn't take off the total spend extra points though)

Yeh, they were half price in the lancaster store yesterday, if you buy 3 t shirt sets you pay 4:98 and get 500 points, even though they are half price, because the tills still have them as 3 for 2 as well they give you back the full price of one set, and yes you still get the 500 points plus the male grooming voucher, its great.
I have just bought 2 Aroma Bears and 1 Pamper gift set for £7.48 and got my 500 points.
BTW, the Advance Power Oral B toothbrushes are still going through at 3 for £9.99.
My thanks once again to the original poster.0 -
