Looks like the kind of mould you get on fruit juice to me.

Tell me if I'm being thick, but if this WERE ham, would it not have gone off in the carton?

Clearly this "Dave Brooker" of whom you speak had quite a following...

No, just a tedious little man with too much to say of very little value, under various guises.
  • chikoo77... sorry for only replying now but only just noticed your post... you stand a good chance of making about £5,000 in compensation for this incident based on previous similar cases (do a search for tomato juice and ham in google... make sure it is in inverted commas or else you will pull up loads of irrelevant hits). Please keep us posted by updating this thread as you pursue your claim with Tesco's...

    Ha!!

Was just about to post a similar thing mountainchrisriver, my aunty, grandma, best friend and my brother have all had this issue. The average hammy-juice compensation payout was about £5k.

If OP chopped the ham and cooked it with a bit of the juice and maybe an egg it could provide a reasonable breakfast.....

Thanks for the reply guys. The hole was actually done by me, when the piece fell of from the tomato juice carton i thought it might be a square piece of carton cardboard base.i couldn't figure it out what it was as it was all covered red by tomato juice. Thus i poked with my finger to find out what it was.

good god, how big are your fingers and perfectly rounded they are too judging by the pics.
There's someone in my head, but it's not me
  • Now D. Brooker, don't get the OP's hopes up too much the £100k payouts are only if it is honey cured ham and I don't think the OP has had it forensically tested at this point in time... regular smoked ham only gives an average of £5k... perhaps someone in the legal profession will pop along soon and explain this strange discrepancy?

I don't think it's safe to draw the conclusion it is smoked ham, the tomato could have tainted it's colour somewhat. Tomato and ham is a very nice combination in my opinion but not worth £5k surely?

  • Unfortunately for the compensation grabbers the tomato juice in packets of ham situation only gets peanuts in comparison...
