    re family rooms

i tried to book 2 rooms as we have two kids and said only 1 free room as same surname, one per household etc, so it said 2 adults on the confirmation so i phoned the hotel direct and asked them to put in an extra bed to the room and on an email tonight chris from reservations USA says that phone the hotel direct and you could ask for extra bed but it does say any change of no of guests will nullify free room.

what am i best to do here?

    A) cancel
    B) ask the hotel direct to email me with details

    any advice appreciated

Someone else in this thread called the hotel and asked for an extra bed and they still got the free room. I don't fell like going thru all 15 pages to find out where it is though heh.

    DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME

I have three screenshots of the final booking page and have sent two emails, one which was answered and one that was not.

I phoned Ramada and finally managed to speak to the customer services lady who answered my original email and she said she cannot provide the free night as the screen shot does not have a time or date. When you take a CNTL Print Screen it doest not take the whole screen [well, it didn't for me] and although I took three screen shots as I scrolled down the page it still didn't show the tool bar down the bottom.

I was calm, explained the situation and said all it would take is one phonecall to Expedia.co.uk to confirm they were offering the the rate I was quoting at the time of my email. She was extremly rude to me and when I asked her why she hadn't responded to my email she basically told me to get lost and didn't care if I never stayed with Ramada again!

Can anyone enlighten me as to how, if you're taking a screen shot, you can show the date and time?

    Thanks [****ed off totally!!!!!!!]

Just a thought on this: I used to work at Travel Inn, and whilst we would add an extra bed for one extra child, we would not do so for two. Maybe worth double checking when you call? x

Edit: Got your PM, you really need to double check this. I know at the TI we would not let children share a single bed because it would render our insurance invalid (overoccupying).
    Gone ... or have I?
  • Finally got a reply tonight 24hrs after sending my email of yesterday which sent the screenshot. They said we cannot see the screenshot and as we cannot now find the cheaper rate we therefore cannot offer free night

So have fired off another email, again including the screenshot, worded rather more strongly than the first, more or less saying your website says AT THE TIME OF MAKING MY RESERVATIONS ON YOUR SITE, not when you had fixed the rate with Expedia to be the same as yours and could be bothered getting back to me!!!!

Let's see if they even bother to reply:o
  • i had made a booking at ealing and had confirmation email of room for free. Few hours later the hotel called me and said they would not honour the rate as expedia is pre paid rate. Are people wasting time comparing to expedia?

You are not the first to have had this.

Quite a few of us are booked in at Chester (not all together!), so will have to wait and see if we hear anything ... x

I can not see anywhere in their T&C's where the pre paid rate is not allowed.
A prepaid Voucher is not acceptable
The competing rate on another website must be for the same hotel, for the same dates, for the same room type, for the same number of guests, in the same currency and must be publicly viewable and bookable via the Internet. A viewable rate means that the general public can view the rate on the website. A bookable rate means that the rate is available and can be reserved online. Special rates available only to members of membership clubs or programs do not qualify.
The Guarantee applies only to published rates available to the general public. This excludes private rates, packaged rates, rates involving a prepaid voucher program, hotel rooms sold as part of a travel package, corporate discount rates, group rates (5+ rooms), meeting rates, any rates requiring membership in a club such as AAA rates or AARP rates, affinity program, or other organization where the rates are

Get back in touch with them and possibly Fax\email their T&C's .

Sounds like they're trying to wriggle out of it.

And while we're on cheap hotels.

    Look at this thread

  • Looks like I wont be getting a ramada hotel or days inn for 26th October so the Hoxton might be an option. Bit gutted about the ramada scenario but I got one free night. Just seems that they are doing their utmost to ignore emails and find excuses to refuse claims. ah well.,
I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Ramada/Days Inn BRG thread.
