Do they charge on booking and then refund?
not if the rate you are booking only requires credit card guarantee rather than immediate payment . all the ones i saw on ramada were just a cc guarantee required.0 -
thanks so much for this !! have just spent ages booking 4 rooms - 2 for upcoming london trips and 2 for what the heck lets have a nite away!! will report back if they all work. They are all for weekends and i did notice whenever i tried a week night the ratre was the same on expedia and ramada( presumably as they will fill with business travellers no matter what the price), whereas it was always less on expedia for the other 3 when i looked for weekends- leeds, chester and london. 1 was only £1 diff!!0

Hey guys
If you are booking rooms just because they are free, then why go for an executive room? I mean don't they have any nice suites :-)0 -

Thanks to the OP for this, bagged a room at Chester for October
Just sent off another claim for Hyde Park in November but the online form wouldn't accept a £ sign this time. Typed in GBP150 instead...let's see what happens...
Even if it's declined the Chester freebie is sweet enough :T0 -

Received the following:
When we attempted to book for 3 adults and 1 child, Expedia.co.uk showed an extra person rate of $10.00 per night raising the total rate to $140.00 (GBP) plus taxes and your total rate is $140.00 (GBP)plus taxes. This is listed on the Rate Details page on Expedia.co.uk.
but I get as far as the page where you give your credit card details on Expedia and it's still showing £130.00 with taxes and fees zero. I've sent them a screenshot but am I missing something obvious? I feel that I must be.0
