Well, I've decided which I'm going to go for! And the winner is...................................................................................................PS3!

Had a long think about it and my reasons for choosing the PS3 are:
    1. Pro Evo - I've always played it on the PS.
    2. Cost - An Xbox with a wireless adapter and Xbox Live subscription would mean it costs £385, just about the same as a PS3.
    3. Noise - PS3 is quieter
    4. Games - There's more games I'm interested in on the PS3 (MGS, Gran Turismo for example).
Now, wheres the best deal? I've seen it for £425 in HMV with Resistance, F1, Heavenly Sword and an extra controller, can anyone beat that??

    About a month ago i bought a PS3 from amazon for £425.
    Console
    2 controllers
    hdmi cable
    Resistance
    Motorstorm
    Fight Night round 3

similar to the deal you found but with the cable and different games.

i already bought an HDMI cable in preparation for the console so i now have a spare one!!

Keen photographer with sales in the UK and abroad.
Willing to offer advice on camera equipment and photography if i can!
  • Wow I just saw that deal on HMV just now.I had it in an email very tempted as the heavenly sword game looks good.

... For me, it's Canon, Vauxhall, and PC

    Yeah, me too.

Oh, sorry, was that not the point :)

As for heavenly sword - looked great at E3 2006 etc, but more recent comment on it hasn't been overly good...(only a 7 on IGN)

Also, just a final comment, I've been playing through Bioshock lately and I really reckon that's gotta justify getting the 360 over the PS3 on its own - just awesome fun.

Tempted to get it on PC (might need to upgrade aging hardware first though).

Yeah, it's well worth a play-through (frustrating lack of multiplayer...it's like "Dirt" all over again...)

(hope the PC version's as good, sure it will be)..

As a warning, make sure you get some comedy lined up for watching afterward though - the game scares the bejesus out of me, I need something cheery to sort me out before I go to sleep :)

They should probably bundle it with a Family Guy boxed set then or something. :D
