I haven't got a problem with having your own blood pressure monitor - but I want to know that I can have my blood pressure taken by a qualified person if needed as I am taking medication. The fact that a doctor's receptionist (sorry 'care navigator') can dictate what I should be doing made my blood boil (and thence raised the pressure I dare say!)😡Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

I've been very cross about the latest Agatha Christie adaptations as they've completely changed the storylines and even who the murderer is in Cards on the Table 😡. Why change something that is so good it doesn't need changing?
DS1 likes Oatly milk too. DH had his first diabetes appointment in ages recently and I was worried that he hadn't had his blood pressure checked for a long time. The GPs' seem a bit cavlier to me about people's health. They're so busy trying not to catch the virus that they're willing to risk us all dying of heart attacks 😡. Rant over 🤣.
Enjoy a cosy afternoon with Miss Marple 🙂.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

@HairyHandofDartmoor and @doingitanyway - I think Covid has given quite a few surgeries the excuse to offload a lot of the old routines that they used to do - i.e phone appointments rather than face to face appointments. God knows how many serious ailments are going to be missed because of this!@beanielou - good for your friend for telling her GP some home truths. The doctor tried to give me the Covid safety spiel - I said if the local blood clinic was happy to see people to take blood and we're all masked up and sanitised, then I couldn't see why one of the surgery's nurses couldn't take my blood pressure!😡
Well I never got to do the ironing. Ended up having a long phone call with DD and catching up with diaries! I said to DD that my scary film tonight was going to be the David Soul mini-series of Salem's Lot! She said she would be with me in spirit as her OH doesn't care for horror films and they would probably be watching Star Wars or something alien related instead!👽🤣. My DSis told me yesterday that as trick or treating has been cancelled this year, her, her OH and little nephew would be watching a suitably scary children's film and eating Halloween type sweets. She's also decorated the house with the appropriate decorations! 🎃👻💀Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

I am glad you were persistent with the doctor and got your BP checked it's very important , especially if you are taking medication. I hope you managed to get out for brunch today with your friend before it becomes a no no. DD I think made the right decision a few weeks ago to return to Scotland she will be better off there . Catch up with you soon .Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.3

I totally understand you wanting to be checked by a professional health care worker since you are on medication. I need another sick note and haven’t seen a doctor since I came out of hospital, or spoken to one.....just requested a sick note via the receptionist.....I’m wondering how long they’ll allow this before I actually at least speak to a doctor. I need to phone again tomorrow to request one so I’ll see what they say.
Your lunch out and Pinot sounded lovely- it feels a long time since I’ve done that. Although I did sneak a breakfst at a distance with a friend a couple of weeks ago.January spends - £587.583 -

Thanks @Sunshine_girl2 @milann and @Bubblesmum - it's very frustrating that trying to get an essential test or actually see a doctor has to turn into a battle each time. 🤬
Well another lockdown tomorrow - I went out lunchtime and had my final coffee with my friend in an actual cafe - we're going to meet up during the month outside though if the weather is good and take our own coffees with us - or even some wine!🤪
I also picked some toiletries in Superdrug that I needed for the month. Quite a big queue outside one of our card shops (Christmas stuff I would think). and also the bank. Also all the cafes and restaurants looked rammed lunchtime.DSis said yesterday that our big toy store, big indoor shopping centre and nearest town shopping centre have been bedlam this week leading up to tomorrow.I ordered my monthly grocery order last Saturday for this Saturday's delivery - just as well I didn't need it until this weekend as all the slots were taken up until 8pm this Saturday! It will be interesting to see how much is missing - the delivery charge seems to have crept up from £2.99 to £5.99 as well!It was quite dismal viewing when I flipped my wall calendar to November. The Pink Floyd tribute band concert that I would have been attending on Monday has been cancelled till next year. Apart from the pedicure and nail appointment I had on Monday and yesterday there is a....blank...calendar........😢 (oh sorry there is a note to order my meds mid-month!). Usually November is busy - the Christmas shopping show, I'm sometimes away for the weekend with DD, there's usually a West End show to see, plus out with friends. Still healthwise all seems well with family and friends which is the main thing thank goodness. ☹️ Roll on to a normal 2021.....🙏Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

That's not good news about your thyroid test @badmemory. I'm on meds for an under active thyroid but one thing the nurse did do was send me for a blood test to check this when I had the call with her a couple of weeks ago. Luckily there was no change. Mind you she didn't have to actually see me to arrange this! Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟
