  • Hi redo. I have been going through the wardrobe on and off since the last big clear up a year ago, so not as bad as it could have been. It was nice to give it a good clean inside though.

    All sounding good SSG :)

Re the foundation - I use L'Oreal CC cream in green, sounds weird but it adapts to your skin colour and covers a multitude of sins. I've been asked on several occasions which foundation I use :)
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Is it like a liquid SA or does it come in a compact? I have heard that a green undertone helps cancels out any redness in the skin.

  • Yesterday's Cleaning Task was the dryer - haven't got one- have a washer/drier so didnt apply. The Organising was the big one though - the BOOKSHELVES! This took me ages! I had to put them all on the floor, dust them and clean the bookcase.

But dear reader, did I thank them all in the best Marie Kondo fashion? No I blinkin' didnt!:D. They know I love 'em anyway and I didn't discard any!

I had to finish cleaning the non-existent Laundry Room this evening - that was hard!:rotfl: Organising Task was CDs and DVDs. I burnt all my CDS onto my laptop a couple of years ago and they're all on my iPod. The CDs live without their plastic cases in a small CD case under the bed. The DVDS are in the drawers in the TV unit and again nothing to get rid of here.

'Vice" was excellent. Clever and very funny black humour, but at the same time thought provoking. If you go, don't leave just as the credits roll at the end - hang on a bit!

Next week off to see ' Green Book' - £11.25 from the Entertainment Budget today. Apart from that no other spends at all yesterday or today.

And I'm really chuffed as I lost another 4lb when I got on the scales today which has meant I've lost a stone!:j Can't really say my clothes feel any looser yet but I feel so much better in myself. Less sluggish and I'm walking more quickly. M&S have lots of new tops in at the moment but I'm not buying anything else in my current size. I've got an M&S gift card and my loyalty vouchers arrived today - £19 - but I'm leaving them for now - apart from spending some of the loyalty vouchers tomorrow as I need a new lipstick.

The 5:2 is going so well this time - my head seems to be in the right place with it all - I'm trying to keep to c.1800 calories a day on the non- fast days but if I go out to eat I'm going to have what I want. The one thing I have been ruthless about though is cutting out the sugary processed foods. I've just kept to fresh fruit, frozen berries and the odd squirt of honey. I may have a dessert on Thursday when I go out but I'll see how I feel. Haven't had any chocolate at all yet () and turned down a slice of scrummy cake that a colleague brought in today!

I have my dentist/hygienist appointment tomorrow but the dental plan will cover that. I texted the boss on the way home tonight to remind him I'd be late in the morning - he texted back to say that's fine but he thought I always posted my teeth direct to the surgery! Huh funny guy!

  • Well done on your organising and cleaning :T.

You're also doing really well on the diet :T. Keep up the good work and I hope your manage to keep your head in the right place. It's the mind that makes us overeat and eat the wrong foods, not our bodies.

Your boss is a joker :rotfl:.

Thanks both of you. I:wave: I'm pleased with how the diet is going. I've been trying to focus it around eating out of what I've got already in the freezer and cupboards, which again seems to be working well.

Well – we've missed the snow entirely in Seasideville and in London – just had some sleety rain – but it's very cold today.

Yesterday's spends in the Ad Hoc pot was £11 taxi fare from station to my dentist yesterday morning. I normally walk there but there was problems on the train and I ended up taking the taxi otherwise I would have been late for my appointment – annoying! :( Other than that, no spends.

It's DD's OH's birthday this week so today I've ordered an Amazon e-gift voucher to arrive on his birthday - £100 (from Gifts pot). I never know what to get him but he's bound to find some techie thing there!

This evening I have my nail appointment, but I won't be spending on anything else today. Tomorrow I'm meeting up with my friend after work at Pizza Express.

Cleaning Project going well – yesterday's Cleaning task was –' Polishing Wood Furniture in the Living Room' – I don't have any wood furniture here – ha ha! :D Organising was the 'Coat Closet.' My day coats hang in the hall and I sorted out the others when I went over the wardrobe last weekend. I also had to give the kitchen a quick once over so did this after dinner.

Tonight the Cleaning task is 'Blinds and Curtains in the Living Room' – I just have blinds which I dust regularly so all ok here. Organising is 'Purging newspapers/magazines' – all up to date with this. I've also got to clean the bath so will give this a quick scrub over.

And having been inspired by Hairy, I'm taking a leaf out of her book and going to look through my paperwork tonight for past credit card details in order to put some PPI claims in. I did get reimbursed a couple of years ago for a loan and bank charges, but never bothered about the credit cards. It may well be that I never had it with them but it's worth a try

Great idea on the PPI SSG , you never know. Commuting was awful this morning , driving in the snow doesn't worry me it's the other road users that do !

  • Definitely worth a try with the PPI SSG. It's amazing what you can forget that you had. DH had forgotten he even had an RBS card, let alone that he had PPI on it, until we found the old statements.

We've had sleety rain too. Hopefully it won't turn into snow for either of us!
