Thank you both. In some way it wasn't exactly a surprise as she had told me about the work already and it seemed to be gearing up this week. I've got my pedicure, which is a treat for me as I always find it relaxing!:)

Hope you’re nicely relaxed after your pedicure.
It’s a shame your dd had to postpone but hopefully won’t be too long until you can get together.
The finances are looking good...especially the emergency fund:money:

Thanks milann. I love my emergency fund! To think that I have a good safety net to fall into on if anything goes awry financially gives me no end of pleasure!:)

I enjoyed my pedicure and now have nice smooth feet and shiny dark red nails! The only downside is getting to the salon. I walk there as it's only minutes away from where I live, but have to go in my flip flops! It was freezing today so I looked like a slightly mad person - warm hat, scarf, and jacket on top and three-quarter length leggings and flip flips on the bottom half. Luckily I had an early appointment and there's wasn't too many people about. Not a cool look!:D

After my pedicure I went home changed into boots and run a few errands.

I bought this week's fruit and veg at the greengrocer and picked up three rather nice white wicker baskets in one of the charity shops for £4.50 which I will use (in the best Marie Kondo fashion) to store my various candles, room sprays etc that live on the bottom shelf in the cupboard under the bathroom sink. This is an event for me as I go into charity shops to drop things off and very rarely look around at what's on offer!:j

I also had a peek around a new shop that has opened here which is a very eco-centric endeavour that promotes zero waste. It sells loose food stuffs like nuts, coffee, spices, honey and all sorts of other stuff but you get it yourself, weigh it and put it into paper bags so it's eco friendly. They also sell eco bath and kitchen supplies. I needed some brazils and almonds so bought a small amount so I could price them against Tesco and Aldi. The shop was buzzing and they seemed to be selling well so I hope it takes off - the nuts were dearer than Tesco and Aldi though when I worked out the sums. But I will make a habit of shopping there from time to time.

Talking of food, I noticed that a cafe near me that is run by one of the local churches had a placard outside that said it was running a food bank now and you could take in your donations. I'm going to start doing this as the nearest other food bank to me is in the town and I don't go there often.

John Lewis also emailed me to let me know the Pouffe I want was in stock. So I have ordered it with my JL gift card. I still have credit left on the card!

So today's non-budgeted spends was just the wicker baskets buy which isn't bad and is a useful purchase!:j

    Cleaning and Organising Project

Into the bathroom we go! Wash down walls - I did it this afternoon. The Organising task was to sort out the cupboard under the sink. Which I did and all my candles and stuff are sitting nicely in the baskets so I can pull them out and get to them easily. The Maintenace task was the daily cleaning plus emphasis on bedrooms. I did my weekly clean anyway so all was included here.

Chili tonight for dinner and a catch up with the TV!

Looking forward to the film Cumbria - it's our little personal cinema club! My friend and I seem to go quite regularly this time of year - I think it's because all the more mature rather than teenage/children's films, are released now for the awards season. Once we get into summer when the Transformer type films are doing the rounds, we seem to stop going so much!

Know what you mean about the CS..I never look round when I drop stuff off. Maybe I should change that.

    Have a great weekend x
