  • I like the sound of the loose stuff shop. It might be more per KG but more economical in the long run as you only buy what you need? I will eat a few walnuts but not a whole packet so they have to be stored. Then I make a cake to use them up, etc.

Know what you mean about the CS..I never look round when I drop stuff off. Maybe I should change that.

    Have a great weekend x

    You too brizzle!
I’m afraid to look around charity shops as they all sell books and I struggle to resist.

That is the worry! :rotfl: when I got the kindle a few years ago I made the resolution not to bring another hard/paperbacked novel into the house. I would buy them all for the kindle to save on space. The older novels are quite cheap for the kindle and I have nearly all my fav novels here now. Space saving wise it's worked out excellently. At the last look I had 531 books stored there!:o. These do include cookery books and some reference books as well - I can access these via my kindle app for the iPad so I get the full colour experience with the photos.

I do eat nuts regularly and find the Aasani Asian brand in Tesco's works out quite quite economically for me. The 500gm bags are easy to store if you've minimal storage space and I always use them up.

Went to Aldi this morning. Shop came to £13.15 which included the coffee pods. They didn't have the 60 pod pack so I bought three 10 pod packs which will cover a month's worth of coffee at work. The three packs came to £5.07 so worked out pro rata only 2p dearer than the 60 pod pack.

I've also done today's Cleaning mission - not much again to do - the Cleaning was shower head, tiles and bath - all done. Organising was Medicine cupboard. I use a top shelf in one of the kitchen cupboards for this so medicines were sorted out before refit. It also mentioned sorting make-up as well but I'm up to date with this as well. Maintenance was the Laundry Room again but I don't have one!:D

So just the ironing to do soon before I head out to the cinema!

I won't be spending anything else today so a NSD for non-budgeted spends!:)

Hi Cumbria - no snow today in London or at my end here thank goodness, although a colleague who lives in the Chilterns got a call from his wife to say the roads were bad at their end.

I loved the film on Sunday! I wasn't sure what to expect and tba Steve Coogan isn't one of my favourites, but boy was he good as Stan Laurel - and so was John C Reilly as Hardy. It was like watching the real duo! Beautifully acted and very bitter-sweet. My friend and I were doing a sniffing duet! All the audience clapped at the end - can't remember the last time I was in a cinema when that happened.

We're off to sew 'Vice' at the weekend - the film about Richard Cheney (MSE won't let me type the abbreviation of his name - it's treating it as a rude word!):rotfl:

I had an early one last night so didn't update, but only spends was £5.10 for the Monday lunchtime coffees.

And 4lb lost when I weighed in yesterday morning! The 5:2 is working!:j

Today I received my topcashback money and that's gone over the the savings account. :). Still plugging away with PA, One Poll and Opinium. I keep missing the surveys - by the time I get on they've got their full quota of participants. :(

Today's spends were: Non-Budgeted- £6.50 at the Post Office to send a next day letter  Budgeted was £27.84 for 2nd class stamps for Christmas  - this has come out of the Christmas budget though.

Off to theatre tomorrow evening to see 'The Bodyguard. '. Really looking forward to it!:)

Hi all - Bodyguard was as good as ever - Alexandra Burke was playing the lead and was excellent.

Yes - the film was great - it'll be a shame if it doesn't pick up any awards.

Hairy - the flat is coming along. I'm got a bit behind with it as I've had a couple of early night this week. I've caught up only because certain things on the rota haven't applied to me or I'm on top of them anyway. So far this week:

Cleaning - shower curtain (don't have one!), bathroom grout (I clean this periodically doing bits at a time with bleach and old toothbrush when I'm in the shower!), scrub toilet inside and out (done), clean bathroom light (done), clean outside porch/doorstep (don't have these), clean front door (done), shake out doormat (done).

Organising - linen closet (all ok with linen), clean down cupboard under the sink and sort out (already done), hair accessories (quickly sorted drawer here and washed brushes and combs), WARDROBE! (Bigger job - doing this tomorrow!)

Maintenance - tbh this can all be done during my Saturday morning clean through. Laundry, as I've mentioned before, I keep on top of this.

And I've been awarded my 5 year anniversary badge by the MSE Badger!!:T
