l think the best present is something that has had a lot off thought and not at lot off money spent on it...........ikea do a great ginger bread house (kids would love making this and eating it ...for less than five pounds) adults buy cheap wine on offer they can always drink it or give to somebody eles ha its not about how much you spend but how much thought has been put into the gift

the pot of golds went down a treat with the family last year (altho mine ended up being gold boxes 79p, lottery ticket £1 and ferrero rocher £1.99 for 10 sweets split between 4 - so not exactly a pot, nor exactly filled with gold coins, but they bl00dy loved it!!) search on the xmas board for pot of gold and see what comes up, the poems to go with them are nice too. if you wanted to make it up to £5 then put something else gold themed in!

Don't mention the ikea gingerbread house!! One year we were having an early xmas for all our friends in mid december as everyone goes away so it's difficult to get together actually at xmas. I started cooking (and drinking wine) at 9am  ready for the meal at 5pm (never did it before so took me ages!) I decided to put the gingerbread house together and couldn't get it to stick together! The bottle of wine was the problem not the actually gingerbread house. I lost my temper with it, opened the back door and flung the whole lot, plate and all down the garden.... straight through the garage window!!!! Oops!:rotfl:

i have just started looking at the comp thread and entered quite a few.
i am wondering if you have more chance of winning by entering on line, posting or texting. how did you win your prizes?

Hi, I enter the online ones mainly, I've tried a couple of postal ones, but had no results from them so now I concentrate on the online comps.

I don't go for the holiday ones unless they are family ones in the UK and don't go for thing like concert tickets & stuff, but I've had a fair amount of prizes so far. Once you start it's addictive lol, but you start to see some return in a month or so from entering.

    Good luck!

    Hiya

we did this last year! On a couple of gifts my sis and I went together so we had a tenner to spend.

    DVD ideas
The notebook - classic girly dvd! Great for sisters, etc.
Anchorman - brilliant for any 20 / 30 something young bloke
Dirty Dancing - fab girly dvd
Withnail and I - classic British film!

In TKMaxx they had some lovely French Connection wallets for £4.99 and some lovely Christmas mugs for £1.99 which are big enough to fill with something like sweeties or smellies.

Last year I made a retro sweety thing CLICK

    Yummy Mummy bib CLICK

I love the marks and spencer perfumes and the purse sizes are £5.00
