    Morning all,
Ok, I'm caffiened up & ready to start my day. Money saving things on the list will be:
*Pick what needs picking from veggie garden & either freeze or turn into meals/soup for freezee
    *Gather windfall apples (again).
*Clean house using minimal products & washable cloths.
*Cut up old jersey duvet cover for cleaning cloths (buttons to button jar)
*Wash hair & let it dry naturally.
*Find my 2 apple chutney recipes & check if I need ingredients as will need to make a year's supply soon to keep on top of our squillions of apples.
*Write shopping list. Did do meal plans last night but ran out of steam.
Think will go down to veggie garden now in case these threatened storms appear. It's certainly gone very dark.
Wishing everyone a happy & productive day.

  • Hi everyone. Yesterday was quite a spendy day unfortunately it was payday and I had two social activities on! But didn't do too bad I paid for lunch as my friend bought it last time and then pub quiz later on I spent £5 on a round of soft drinks and my two friends bought a round each too.
Today my day looks like this:

-my new diary should arrive so fill that. It includes a budgeting page and incoming outgoing page for each month and a meal planner/shopping list for each weeks. Can't wait to get using it!
-meal plan for the weekend and next week
-go through the house and declutter a bit more (this is an ongoing task for the last few weeks)
    - house hunt online for looming sale of our rental house
-I have nhs physio later today but my DH will take me and pick me up, it's not far and this saves expensive parking
-visit my mum who's not feeling well
    - aim for a NSD (will delete the Amazon app from my phone today to deter from quick mindless buying!)

Oh and look after my teething grumpy baby too haha

    Morning money savers
    Today and the weekend:
    - going to an agency in the nearby city, getting train as I think it will be cheaper than fuel and parking (and quicker)
    - ipoll
    - postcode lottery
    - write shopping list and meal plan
    - collect 2 pie face toys which both had £5 off. Found out about this through a Facebook group called extreme couponing and bargains Uk. That's two Christmas presents sorted.
    - check eBay sales
    - check 3 market research apps
    - claim free eye test from Specsavers (voucher on website) and glasses (claim back from health fund membership)
    - sew dress (been putting this off for at least a week)
    - attend free meal and opening event at friends pub
    - enter a few competitions
    - order Costa and morrsons vouchers through cashback site (it's a work site sorry)

I did a product test through the ipoll app recently, it was a one off but I really enjoyed it, anyone know how / where I can registered for decently paid product testing? Recommendations welcome.

I think that's all I have planned so far.
Whoop it's Friday, enjoy the weekend

  • Shock horror - OH uses the out of date chillies in the fridge! Says they're just like dried chilies and are fine for cooking. They say 8 Jun! Wonders never cease :rotfl:
  • Morning everyone,

Got my NSD yesterday which is good, as I know I won't get one today. Clothes shopping tonight. Which no doubt means I'll wander round the shops and not see anything I like, then I'll only see things I do like when I'm not looking.

    - Check banks and YNAB
    - Bring lunch to work
    - Drink plenty of water
    - Check where's cheapest for petrol to my work
    - Look up a recipe for tonight's dinner.

    That'll do me.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Afternoon all :)
Sitting down for a breather, as I haven't stopped today
    So far:
    Checked banks
Took pup to vet for post-op check, he is fine (but we knew that!). Asked for a duplicate vaccination record for him as I have lost it :o I expected to be charged for this, as it was my carelessness, but no charge apparently :D
Took him for a charge around the park after
    Load of washing
    Wrapped 3 ebay parcels
Walked to post office and bought the few bits I needed at Lidl while out - found aubergines at 29p each in store, and red onions for 29p a bag, so together with HG courgettes and tomatoes, and the huge bag of red peppers I got at the market yesterday, I will make ratatouille for the freezer :)
Helped OH cut up and store some free firewood - it won't be dry enough for the wood burner for at least a year, but it will look pretty in the garden wood store in the meantime :)
Helped OH to sweep the chimney - he has been on a roll today
Did final summer pruning for my baby cordon fruit trees, cutting back the new growth to encourage fruiting spurs. This was a bit awkward as I had to climb through the courgettes to get to them. They will need to be retied to their stakes when the courgettes have gone. Found a giant courgette while I was at it, and 1 fallen apple :rotfl:
Started to put away pots etc that are coming empty in the garden
    Bit of weeding

    Still to do:
Make ratatouille Done, made 8 portions - just got to find space in the freezer for them now
Wrap another ebay sale Done, cleared wrapping stuff away so I can see the dining table again :) Hopefully this will ensure another flurry of sales :rotfl:
Make a rhubarb pie to use up a part pack of pastry and lots of HG rhubarb Done
Toying with the idea of polishing the wood burner with black stuff now OH has swept the chimney - this is unlikely to get done today! No it didn't get done today, but I did get as far as getting the black stuff out of the cupboard :D
Hoovered the stairs and put the hoover away
Put a new fur collector in the kettle
Used up some washing machine cleaner that I found while looking for the stove black stuff - don't remember ever buying that, but it is in the machine now and the pack recycled, not sure whether it will make any difference!

Right, better get on and do some more!

Phew only done 5,000 steps today for Bounts, thought I'd done double that because I've been non stop all day!!

Bought a couple of stocking fillers today, TeamGB Stationary set £4.99 reduced to £0.49 pence and pencil case £2. 99 reduced to £0. 17 pence in Aldi.

Checked my shopping receipt and was charged twice for the one item, went for a refund. Good idea to check your receipt I have often found mistakes. On this occasion I was over charged £2.99

I've enrolled for the Tesco and Clicks product testing, anyone else do these? Any good?

  • Hi everyone

We're off to the theatre today with my £1 show film first tickets. :D Well chuffed I could get a Saturday matinee. :T Think we will go for a drink afterwards and still need to pay tram tickets but we'll come home for dinner and drinks at home. Perfect date for less than £20. :T

Just been outside enjoying a morning coffee while the dog played a game of 'find it'. He is obsessed with cherry tomatoes and he was playing at being a sniffer dog for a whole 10 mins before he found my hiding spot - was awesome to watch.

OH got a refund on his old student a/c for unfair bank charges - that is our holiday next month paid for :j

We ended up going out for dinner last night, which wasn't the plan... so a wee bit of YNAB re-jigging is required!!

OH was working yesterday and is working this morning and talking to someone about further work so keeping my fingers crossed that all works out for him...

I'll just be sorting the house - cleaning/tidying etc and may have to take pooch face out a walk.

In other news... food shopping so far this month stands at £124 so I'm pretty happy about that. Also spent £24 on drinks for home, which I guess we could cut back on too, but not if we don't desperately have to.

    Catch up with you soon.
