That sounds like my life - I do try and get stuff done when I'm not poorly but it's really hard when there is nothing to fall back on! Kids make it hard too as you can't not feed/wash/clothe them - need to get more organised really!Living the simple life0

I would suggest working out what is absolutely vital (feeding, clothing and washing small ones for example) and then playing the "good enough" game. Let me explain....
The "good enough" game is saying to yourself that you are doing something even if it is not quite to the standards you would like it to be.
So that might be that you buy some freezer standby foods so there is something available for you all when you don't feel great.
It might be that you prepare extra when you do feel well. For me, that is chopping up some extra mushrooms and onions when I feel OK.
I feel very strongly that marketing makes most of us feel a bit of a failure. We see the perfect family in the perfect home with everything perfect........ yet life is rarely like that.
Take some time to look at what you can put into place that will make it easier, just baby steps that work for you.
So, for me, I have a larger freezer and store cupboard stock which means I can usually find something to eat that takes little effort. If only I could remember to record what I use, it would be even better!!
On really bad days, I do things when adverts are on TV. Just two or three minutes add up to making me feel I have achieved something.
And lastly, if you are still reading, don't make comparisons to others. Treat yourself as you would treat your friends.Don't get it perfect - Get it goingBetter Than Before0 -
Bump, Bump, Bump
Am bumping the thread after replying to Prinzess on a thread she started . I've been meaning to get back for months but as Terry Pratchett would say have been living in interesting times
Promised myself I'd be back for the solstice - no chance .
Anyway had to search my profile to find it , how undignified .
So anyone emerging from hibernation like Mole in the Wind in the Willows ? Regulars , New posters all welcome .

pollyI'll be a new joiner if I may? Following an escalation of meniere's disease and destructive treatment to try and curb it (unsuccessfully)I've been more or less housebound for nearly six months and as an outdoorsy sort I'm missing being out and about and from a OS perspective missing being able to visit the bargain shops and getting the most from the £1 in my purse:(. Unfortunately I'm likely to lose my job sooner rather than later and move to half pay next months but know I'll manage ok if I'm careful

Thank you for bumping this thread.
I for one have been through the mill with trying to get decent pain relief - still working on it.
Anyways - Pollyanna - re being back for Solstice - the good thing is there's always another one coming up. Next is Ostara, and from the point of view of the Wolf's Lair, I'll have Lizzie the Sprocker Spaniel staying with me before that.
C'mon, friends, rejoin with this thread.

Good to see you LW I haven't been online much over the last few months . You name it it happened . The virus that keeps on giving is one that needs to depart never to return . Have had extended periods of no landline or internet which is a nightmare if you are a basic mobile user and hardly use that anyway .
Look forward to hearing how your doggie venture as going . Virtual painfree hugs x
Welcome Caronc The more the merrier , I recognise your user name from I think a recent food related thread , I may even have posted - gone into the black hole of Fibro Fog never to return .
Well I need to think of something to eat which requires no effort at all . Hope to be back later .

Caronc I'm sorry to read of the direction your life is taking . One of the reasons I started the thread is many of us who follow the old style way are suddenly unable to do so in the ways we used to . My original title was a bit misleading as in most cases it became apparent it wasn't always possible to be totally os . Some people found various gadgets shortcuts etc helped them . Affordability varies for different people but in my view if it doesn't mean landing in debt whatever can help is fine .
I live on a low income and some things would be lovely but the bills take priority , we had many posters all with different difficulties but loads of advice to offer .
One poster Larumbelle fired us up with bullet lists . I need to develop the art of that but keep forgetting and tend to ramble instead :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
So many views and ideas evolved that it wasn't really about tips anymore but sharing with like minded people , all without exception the sort you'd like in real life .
You must be wondering about adjusting to the loss of work but there will be ways to ease the way . I don't know if you've read from the start but there are a lot of good posts there . Thanks for reminding me about your thread , the fog never lifts completely but it's reassuring to find I didn't imagine it .
LW Is it Zomorph you're talking about ? That and Oromorph are dds most effective meds although the Pregablin is better for her Fibro . Hope they get you sorted soon . Thanks for the virtual high fives - gotta love virtual
