Hi everyone - just popping in to catch up a bit. Just had to replace the boiler as it was broken so we are rather poor now! It needed doing so at least it's sorted. Scrimping by at the moment but I'm sure we will survive!.

Beef casserole in the SC today and plenty to freeze as it's starting to get chilly up here so love having the SC on for lovely hot meals when I get in from work with 2 starving children who have just finished school!

Kids are still tired after going back to school and are finding mornings hard work again.

I'm doing ok at work and it's getting better - still waiting on my blue badge to be sent out tho as they have had a back log!

Will catch up with everyone properly soon- take care!

Hi folks - wow, I have had a bit of catching up to do! Been up to my ears, and my time on MSE has therefore suffered.

Jamanda thank you; just - thank you. It means a lot to know someone cares.

Polly I'm managing ok with the food processor; it's the decluttering thing we've got going; obsolete/no-longer-useful gadgetry is leaving the building, in order to make way for useful stuff we may find in the future (and stuff from the loft we want to keep, that really can't stay up there).

Up to my eyes with dog-sitting too (thankfully - as you know, the pooches keep me from going totally over the edge). I have a lovely Staffie named Bluebell here this week.

Still doing two tasks at once most of the time - I forget the last time I actually took time out to eat a meal and not be typing one-handed on the 'puter at the same time. Oh yes I do remember - it was Thursday last week, we had lunch out for our Crystal (15 yrs) anniversary. :D

Gotta go; dins is nearly cooked, and I haven't set the eating irons out yet.

    Quick wave from me!

It is pretty hectic here...we are STILL trying to sort out the ESA claim... latest stage is that a letter arrived saying the F2F has been cancelled, they don't need to see me...and then nothing...tried to phone to get info on progress of claim (phoning DWP not Assessors as directed) and played ring-a-ring-a-roses as we got sent from one department to another before someone said, 'well we don't know what's happening, so can't help….maybe you'll get a letter sometime'...REALLY helpful!!!!...not!

The weather can't decide what it wants to do...but I have been making soup!

I was at the dentist today...no treatment needed..big YAY!...but another check-up in 6 months (it is usually every 9 months, but he is keeping a check on a tooth that will need to come out at some point).

The GP Surgery has started sending out notices about the flu-jab...so I will have to see about booking myself in for one...make sure Mum gets hers too.

Inbetween times I have been managing to get a few minutes in most days on my embroidery...I am getting my Christmas Cards done at the moment.

    Take care all!

Good evening from a dull and slightly windy West Midlands, missed the worst of the weather so far.

Tink - so pleased that things are better at work, tough about the boiler, but at least you have it done before the winter, like the sound of your Beef casserole.

Lame Wolf great that you are having lots of canine visitors, little licks and big tail wags from Miss MM.

Prinzessilein I just cannot comprehend the inefficiency of so many of these organisations, I feel so sorry for some of the people who work there and struggle to do a decent job with awful systems, and the people who just don't care are another story altogether.

OH and I have just had a couple of weeks away in our caravan, 1 week in Dorset and the 2nd in Somerset, back in time to have the infusion for my bones and now need to catch up with the washing and garden tidying, a little weary so progress is slow.

Polly sorry that your DD has had to suffer a virus and post viral aftermath, I hope that life settles down soon.

    Take care all.

Tink that's really bad news about needing a new boiler . Not what you needed at the moment . On the positive side it should last a long time into the future so one less worry .

I'm pleased work is a more pleasant experience now . It was worth you tackling the situation head on .

I've been thinking about food and it occurred to me although I always thought the warmer weather made for easier food in fact autumn / winter food is easier nowadays . I don't have a slow cooker but a casserole or stew can mean less effort and time especially if everything is in one pot and extra portions can be frozen for another meal .

Have you had any date yet for your husbands' surgery ? I can't remember if I replied to your post about the sick pay . If I didn't half pay is much better than SSP and as you've become so good at budgeting and planning ahead I'm sure you'll get through .

Hopefully the BB should turn up soon . It will make a real difference .

Wolfy Belated congratulations to you both on your Crystal anniversary . I think Crystal is such a lovely and rather apt one . I wish you both more happy years ahead .

Bluebell is a familiar name so unless everyone in your area chooses their pets names from a tiny list I reckon BB is a familiar guest under your roof . Hope the weather is good and you are able to venture forth . As for multi tasking I seem to be doing it so much lately I lose track of what I'm doing . I've found myself checking what day of the week it is lately and looking at the diary a number of times a day . Think I'm finally losing the plot .

Sending positive vibes to you both . I understand why you need to declutter but don't wear yourselves out in the process .

Phone is ringing so will continue when I've spoken to DD2 .

    Take care all

Prinzess Empathy re the Ring a ring a roses merry go round . I've been trying to get some sensible replies from ESA for the past week .
Since last Wednesday the postman has delivered 3 large brown envelopes . No 1 was a four sided form folded to A4 size with three boxes to tick or not according to yes or no . It was concerning dds ESA . Do you have a partner . Do you have savings . If you have a partner do they have savings . Only question relevant to dd was the savings one and she doesn't . Sent it back last Friday signed for .

Monday a 44 page ESA3 form arrived something we've never seen before . As usual it was addressed to me but not as usual mentioning I am dds appointee and the form was about her . Instead it said you are getting contribution based ESA we need to look at your claim to decide if you may be entitled to income related ESA from Feb 2014 .

Problem there is I have not claimed any form of ESA or DLA/PIP ever .

Dd had appts both Monday and Tuesday so after going to town for the meds I hit the phone and found myself talking to someone in Belfast who had no idea at all what was going on . After being transferred to various depts neither I nor they were any the wiser . That was yesterday . Today an identical form came through the letterbox this time with the appointee message and referring to dd .

I've tried again today to get some sense out of them and it was a waste of time and effort .

The original letter was signed for at Wolverhampton on Monday . Both these forms were sent out on Tuesday 14th but arrived on different days .I'm still not sure what's happening and why . I've wondered if it has anything to do with the need to assess claims from a period when some weren't looked at properly .

I need to look at the site online to try to find out . It's a waste of time phoning .

I hope you get some answers soon .

I was going to do a reminder about the Flu Jab but thanks for doing so . The nurse will do dds on Monday when she does her monthly bloods .

Meanwhile I think losing yourself in the stitching is a good antidote to these annoying things .

I don't know if everyone gets to listen to Vivaldis' " Four seasons " when they phone . I used to love listening to Vivaldi but the constant loop while waiting for a reply and then being shunted around the system has ruined that for me .

I've just had to try to remember where I was up to .

maddie I couldn't remember when you were going away but I'm glad you enjoyed your break in two different areas .

Now you've had the infusion take it slowly catching up on things until it kicks in fully . I think if it were possible my gardens and possibly the house would relocate themselves elsewhere as with such a busy year it's been a matter of priorities and they've drawn the short straw .

A situation with the ex husband has come up in the last few weeks . He's in hospital many miles away bed bound . Part of me wishes he'd listened a few years ago when dd2 and I offered to help him source ground floor housing followed some time later by sheltered .
he shouted us down and carried on his My way or the highway path as always .

I'm a mixture of anger, frustration and pity . Pity is an emotion I never expected after the damage he caused us all those years ago .

I know he is now living his worst nightmare no control , no freedom . he hates people , doctors and anyone who who doesn't follow his thinking . As far as I'm aware he never found anyone who did .

At present we are mainly monitoring things via my phone calls to the ward and to him . Dd2 has visited when she can but she has a very demanding job and I'm worried she will overdo things . She lives near me so it's quite a journey .

I have to try and find time to go with her to see the social worker hopefully at the hospital . There's already been discussion about a care home and they've agreed it may be possible to locate him in this area . He's grudgingly accepted the fact that he wont live alone again .

So very mixed feelings . I keep thinking If only he'd listened while he had choice but If only are two of the saddest words in the English language and it's far to late now .

Decades ago I thought I'd begun to heal after the court sent him out of the area under an injunction with power of arrest and now old forgotten memories are coming back .

I'll pull myself together and have a word with myself . I've got through worse times than this .

Sorry to bring the thread down . Dd2 has enough to deal with and youngest hasn't contacted him since childhood so I'm trying to work this one through myself . My 2 eldest children from my first marriage would pass him in the street and turn away .

Anyway I shall give myself a shake . The memories stop here .

Thanks for the good wishes for dd maddie . She had Norovirus a number of times last year but this late summer version came out of the blue . We'd never heard of it until she was diagnosed .

Hope you're ok candy and Zeus and the others are fighting fit .

I think I'll think about heading for bed . The wind has finally lessened here . It was really battering in here from Ireland from last night and I kept waking up during the night to bangs and crashes .

Hope our posters and readers are ok . I'm quite worried about AOT who seems to have gone off the radar .

Hope you're ok Wonky Teapot .

If you're reading Pauline sending supportive vibes to you .

I can't name everyone but take care all of you .

Sleep tight ( that includes you Wolfy! )

    Love

I think I mentioned on here that I was thinking of trying The Optimum Health clinic in London as they specialise in Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue. I was going to try it next year if I hadn't managed to recover from Fibro by then.

I was looking on Mumsnet and I found a clinic in London run by Ashok Gupta and I have sent off for the DVDs. It cost about £200 but it has a very high success rate. The Optimum Health Clinic was over £1,000 as a comparison!

The theory is that with Fibro/Chronic Fatigue your brain is stuck in the fight/flight response and because it is in survival mode your body cannot repair itself normally. That is why I have poor sleep and a busy mind because I am hypervigilant most of the time. Your body can't sleep or detox or run properly while the brain is in this state.

He says that you can retrain your brain using exercises. He is on YouTube if anyone is interested. He suffered from CFS himself while he was studying at Cambridge and didn't find doctors very helpful so he found ways to heal himself.

It is supposed to take about 6 months to work but a lot of people said they recovered completely in a shorter time. It's worth a try as I have spent enough money trying things in the past year since I was diagnosed.

Some good news is that the rash I had on my legs is almost gone! I got a stronger steroid cream from the GP last time I saw him.:p

He also managed to p*ss me off about Fibro as he said that the best thing for me was to exercise. Doctors really don't seem to know what they are talking about with Fibro. The "advice" is completely unhelpful! Even when I exercise I don't feel any better as I feel okay one day and terrible the next.
