I had another therapy session today, I feel quite exhausted now. I was glad to get home.
I'm going out for a meal and to the cinema tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to that as I had to cancel the last trip out I had planned as it was just after the terrorist attack we had at Parsons Green.
I have the GP on Wednesday so I am going to ask him about my heel pain and get more Lyrica while I'm there.
I think the rest of the week will just be recovering from the first half of the week!:ppollyanna_26 wrote: »The weather is weird here today on the NW coast . I had to keep the lights on until 8.30 this morning , We had rain , then the murky yellow sahara sky until a couple of hours ago followed by light cloud and sun . More cloud is building and the wind is getting stronger now . It's very hot and humid now so not sure if Ophelia will hit us or not . Spoke too soon I can now hear the wind through the double glazing which is rare .
The weather has been very weird here today too, it looks scary in Ireland.
It's 30 years since that bad storm we had here. I remember waking up in the night and hearing the wind outside. I've never heard anything like it. I thought our roof was going to be ripped off.
I was only 11 back then and I was glad to get the day off school.:D0 -
Hello everyone. Back from my holibobs and I have had a lovely time. A nice relaxing break, good weather, calm seas, interesting ports of call and some lovely new friends made.......maybe even a little romance might be on the cards........:rotfl:
Watch this space........;)
Anyhoo......the steroid injection worked well and my knee stood up to the rigours of walking. I made it a point not to use the lifts any more than necessary and I always walked down the stairs, saving the lift for only travelling up more than three decks. Anything less then I made myself walk. As a consequence I only gained just over 2.5 lbs which I have lost already.
I did use my leg brace a couple of times to go ashore when I knew there would be some walking on uneven ground and I did use the pain gone pen.
I would say the pen helped a bit but only in as much as it “takes the edge off”, it didn’t mean I was completely pain free. I also took a little pot of tiger balm, the white one which is a bit weaker and not quite so pungent.
One day when we were in Bilbao and it was raining and misty my hands ached. I applied some tiger balm when we were on the coach. The lady behind commented she could smell eucalyptus. I apologised and told her it was me using tiger balm. She laughed and said not To apologise because she loved the smell. She asked if it worked and I said yes I found it very helpful and I let her try some. Another convert.
Sorry to hear so many of you are struggling. Polly you really are going through the mill aren’t you. Hope things improve soon.
I realised with a jolt it’s only 12 weeks until I go to the Amazon so I will have to sort out my vaccinations. Not looking forward to that. The last time I had vaccinations for an exotic destination I felt like I was dying. My boss at the time sent me home and got his wife to check up on me the next day because he said I looked as if I was at deaths door. :rotfl:
Hey ho needs must I suppose. I’ll try and get them done sooner rather than later so I am not sick over Christmas.
Weird weather here too.0 -
Evening all, just popping in to say I hope all that are in the path of the storm are safe and snug.
I've not posted for a bit as life is a rather flat at the moment and I'm trying to get my head round a) being "officially" retired and b) being told by the balance specialist last week that in effect this is as good as it gets, there is nothing more they can offer me to improve things and my challenge is accepting this. Hard news but not unexpected but has left me feeling a bit adrift. In fairness I appreciate his honesty as I much prefer folk to call it as it is.0 -

I had the flu jab on Saturday and have a large red circle on my arm which hurts and itches. Hoping it is a sign it means it is active and working as the NHS is expecting a bad flu season which affects the young and healthy as badly as the older people. It might be a good idea to get your jabs as soon as possible so any side effects have time to wear off."This site is addictive!"

candygirl - Hi another one here with PA, diagnosed 17 years ago, now on 8 weekly jabs and like you I SI as and when I feel I need it too. Sorry that you have neuro damage, fortunately I don't, but I do have other conditions that can give similar symptoms to those of PA, hence I SI as I know it cannot harm me and it might just help.
Got my B12 today, B12 in one arm, flu jab in the other:D GP appointment tomorrow some very  blood test results to discuss with her.
Hugs and spoons where needed, I will try and do a proper catch up tomorrow:DThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -

It's both amazing that so many of us self inject, and outrageous that we have to, as years ago jabs were given at least monthly. Glad you've no lasting damage hun xx"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Grr, I have period pains today. I'm using a heat back patch (the type that has a belt that you tie around you) to see if it helps. It seems to be helping a little bit so far. I hope they subside as I'm meant to be leaving at 1 today to go out.CRANKY yep.I have B12 jabs every 3 months, n also self inject it when my symptoms get really bad, but sadly the neuro damage is permanent 😣Got my B12 today, B12 in one arm, flu jab in the other:D GP appointment tomorrow some very  blood test results to discuss with her.
My doctor mentioned B12 injections to me. I read somewhere that they really hurt? Is that true?
My flu jab didn't hurt much at all, the pharmacist said to relax my arm completely as that is meant to be the best way of having it done.2025 GOALS

If your doctor thinks you need B12 don't let the injection put you off, I found it painful at first, but it is over so quickly that by the time sleeve is pulled down or coat on the pain has gone. Like leg waxing the more I had it done the less it hurt too:rotfl:
I hope that the pain lessens enough for you to get out and about, take care.:DThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Hi all!!
Hope everyone is ok after the bad weather! Honk the worst we got was a few stray plant pots blew away! We have packed the garden away for winter a few weeks ago so there wasn’t much out.
Came home from work early yesterday as I felt dizzy and unwell. Managed to get a drs appointment and my BP is a bit low but in all honesty it was quite a pointless event. I spoke about my anxiety and how I felt I wasn’t coping and it was brushed aside. Seeing my MS nurse soon so I’ll try and bring it up with her as it’s hard to cope at times.
Had a sausage casserole in the SC yesterday so that was all 4 of us fed easiy and with the weather it was a nice filling dinner. Today is chicken stir fry for us and something easy for DS - DD is at a class so gets a packed lunch.
I’m in work tomorrow so I’ve took out beef for the SC some frozen casserole veg I found in the freezer and I’ve still got some potatoe and carrots in water that was chopped yesterday I can chuck in so another easy tea tomorrow.
I feel like I’m complaining and I’m not I’m just finding it hard to keep on top of stuff at times. I’m sure without the illnesses I have - 2 young kids, a job and a busy life is hard enough!
Hope everyone is doing well and plodding on!
Take careLiving the simple life0
