CRANKY40...Yes the snowmen are fairly easy to do....Straightforward stocking stitch...simple increase on one row (knit front and back of each stitch) for basic shaping...the head and body is knitted in one piece, then two simple arms...little hat...twisted wool for scarf ...embroider on eyes and carrot nose...optional jumper (which I don't do because I don't want my snowmen to get too warm or they might melt!!!!)
It is a flutterbypatch pattern:

I use Sirdar snowflake wool for the snowmen which is a little trickier to work with but gives a lovely snow-texture...and have been using rest bits of DK for the hats.0 -
LW I don't blog or do social media . I do read a few blogs and occasionally respond but they're all pretty OS , well Hester's tends to vary
DD reckons she's a mix of Sybil and Vimes at the moment .
She reckons I'm Granny Weatherwax as I am firm but usually things turn out ok . I would prefer a bit of Nanny Ogg in there , the better bit . I am also fond of Sam Vimes and abide by The Boots Theory .
9 nights with Daisy is worth looking forward to . I agree there are no bad dogs only bad owners .
Nowadays I think more and more that Sir Terry wrote in advance of the events we see now . It seems the fantasy at times has started in some ways to be the reality . I wish he could cast a cynical eye around and document it .
Oh that leg Cranky good job you followed it through . I can't remember if you're alright with dairy . A decent plain probiotic yogurt can help when you are taking antibiotics . It can help minimise the effects . We learned that years ago when dd would get thrush and other issues after taking ABs
I'm glad the day that started badly ended well Wednesday . It sounds as though it could go well . Just feeling the weight has been lifted a little is a wonderful thing .

Not asking medical advice here, but has anyone found Voltarol gel good for OA? I currently use deep heat, but need sumut stronger.Have also been looking at CBD oil, the legal cannabis oil. My local health store is now selling it, but it's quite dear
LW , I am currently sitting under 18kg Bonnie. She is very long legged , but solid, like a ball of pure muscle :eek:Her Brother Chuck is huuuuuuge :rotfl:

Just spotted your post Prinzess . I tend to use Sirdar when possible find it really reliable in fact I've used it for more years than I can remember .
I used the Snowflake a number of times . I found you need to concentrate as if I recall correctly it can split if you aren't careful . It does give lovely results . Thank you for the pattern link .

Candy Every time i stop posting I spot another post :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
LL has used Voltarol Gel if I remember rightly . I used it a few times too but found I got good relief from the Perskindol . As I prefer to have a natural solution I stick with that .
BTW Wednesday I always have Aloe Vera Gel in the cupboard it's really good on burns and all kinds of other things . I tried the juice a few times but it wasn't for me . No harm in trying . I didn't like the taste .

Are going to be on a cruise LL? I know you enjoyed the last one . Hope you enjoyed the cinema trip . I'm wondering where the Jolly Dollies name came from . Whenever I read it for some unknown reason I picture a Miss Marple episode which was on the background when I was visiting . There were a troupe of end of pier entertainers in it and they had mop caps and silly little frocks . Lord only knows the connection :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Lol........I don't know where the name Jolly Dollies comes from but it's nice and lighthearted and perhaps a bit more appropriate than "Merry Widows" :rotfl:
Yes I enjoyed the film thanks. I always think judi Dench is good. It was nice to get out.
My husband has been dead now for 3 years and I have decided that I really need to make an effort to rebuild my life. I can't be a hermit forever.
Yes I'm going on a cruise, 12 nights, Amsterdam, La Pallice (France), Bilbao, Lisbon, Gibraltar and La Corunna. I'm looking forward to it. I only booked it last week, it was a last minute bargain...:D. Hoping to catch a couple of art museums, maybe the Van Gogh in Amsterdam and the Guggenheim in Bilbao.
Cruises work well for me as a solo woman, I know I'm safe and secure. I'm not quite intrepid enough yet to head off into the blue yonder entirely alone so a cruise is a good half way House. I can mingle when I wish or be alone if I need some quiet time.
Went for Physio today and she included a really deep tissue massage. Gawd it hurt. :rotfl: although to be fair It did the trick, she did loosen up my muscles. They get so knotted and tight. She has given me some exercises to do at home to try and strengthen my knee and also some ideas of what exercises I can to do at the gym when I get back from my holiday. I joined recently and so far have only managed swimming but she thinks I'm ready to get a bit more adventurous. .
There will be lots of opportunities for me to exercise on holiday, theres a gym on board and they usually do yoga or Pilate classes each day. APparently this cruise also has ballroom dancing classes so I'm up for that. They also do a "walk a mile with a smile" each day around the deck. Then there is the sauna, steam room, the jaquizzi and two swimming pools so hopefully I'll be able to make a start on improving my fitness as well as a bit of serious pampering....All that plus warm sunshine and fresh sea air.
If that lot doesn't sort me out, nothing will.
Having said that since my steroid injection I have tried walking more - well more of a leisurely stroll but at least I'm a bit more mobile. Making some progress at last.0
