  • Prinzess Knitting snowmen sounds like a perfect way to spend the day . Good news on the back pay that's one you can tick of the list . A heated pad with a fleecy bag sounds very Hygge to me . I hope it will help you . Don't get me started on the people who " know someone so know everything " We've encountered too many of them over the years . I don't know your thoughts on the change to various autism classifications but although I understand Aspergers and similar conditions can be grouped under ASD I think they may go to far in other areas . People in the main don't know of the wide variation and always opt for worst case scenarios .
As for "small groups" I can still picture in my mind a case conference when DD was 13 , so nearly 20 years ago . She had recently been referred to adolescent mental health services under the "care" of the inept Psychiatrist . We'd attended a few appointments with him and the nurse in the room . Then he called a case conference , we knew our original GP would be there because she'd already told us also the home ed officer from education and her husband who was her tutor under the EU funded initiative . When we walked in there were over two dozen people sitting in a large circle . He droned on and on talking utter rot and people started looking longingly at the door . He wouldn't allow any questions or input from anyone and I could feel DD start to tense and shake . I thought she would run for the door , instead she stood up , picked up her chair and hurled it straight at him . There was a shocked silence then I raised my eyes . Our doctor was trying not to laugh and so were the others . It wasn't good but I think he learned his limits that day .
Not long after that he referred her to the college for the autism she didn't have then to residential for a while . If he hadn't been struck off when he was he'd have been in court .
So small groups aren't always what you expect .

  • We're going to end up with a lot of Glasgow Roses today :D

You do very well with Brainfog LW. I'm usually surrounded by bits of paper , if I haven't lost them . That link is brilliant hopefully there wont be any scalds in future for any here .
I'll be watching out for LLs thoughts on the pain pen too , every little helps as they say .
Online groups , there may be good USA ones but we've both found you will never be good enough , try hard enough or just deserving enough . DD has a couple of blogs which run pretty well although no and then she has to block someone . With different conditions she has specific and then more general support ones . She started her first back when she was 16 and diagnosed with PCOS and that one is still running .
I don't think it will compromise her privacy to point you in the direction of the closed DW Emporium group . I'm not sure of how you access that but she wont mind my asking .
They chat about all sorts and many have their own physical and mental battles . A small number of them were the ones she met a while back to watch a performance of one of Sir Terrys witch stories performed .
They are lovely people , they've held her up through the pip esa and all the other stressful times .
You would never need to meet them but you may find their online chat interesting .
As for Airedales and Irish Wolfhounds they were the only breed my Irish Granddads owned each owning only one type .
They were amazing , intelligent , loyal and gentle with us when we were children however they were huge and heavy , I recall literally being trapped under one on the sofa until help came running . One for you to admire from afar if you spot one methinks .

There s a free fibro recipe book, on ereader iq today .Did the link before but it showed my amazon account

Thanks Candygirl. I got the free book too, I haven't ever seen that eReaderIQ thing before, I will have to check that in future.

I get the daily free books email and I got 2 free books on Emotional Freedom Technique for pain relief the other day.

I haven't read them yet, I am just stockpiling books on health at the moment. I will have to get a chance to sit down and read them all at some point!:p
On a quiet day she would spend a few happy hours sorting the books back into the Dewey system as we're both a bit obsessive about that :rotfl::rotfl:

    Obsessive, hmm, I can relate.:D

One niggle I have is when people make assumptions about me because they know someone 'just like me'!....Mum still snarls at the memory of a woman who was told that I have Autism 'Oh yes, I know ALL about that." said the stranger, "My cousin has a friend with a teenage son who has Autism - he has the mind of a three year old. SO sad that they will never be of any use isn't it."...thankfully, I wasn't there at the time - it just so happened this was at the time that I was still able to work - as Head of my Department!!!!

Wow, that is just shocking ignorance!

I'm glad you got your PIP back pay.:)

  • I was looking at heat pads on my phone this morning as I woke up early and thought I would try to distract myself so I wasn't thinking too much about the appointment today.

I then remembered that I bought some of those back patches that heat up! I could have used those the other day when I felt like I was getting a migraine. I put them up in a cupboard and forgot about them.

You're too kind. :D I rely upon my PDA for reminders; bits of paper are not a lot of help because 1) I lose them and 2) I forget to look at them. The PDA "squeaks" at me to remind me of things. And I have reminders in my phone (which btw is nine years old and held together with a laccy band) so that Mr LW and I take our medications on time. ;)

I've never gotten into blogging; just not my "thing" I guess. I don't even have a private Book of Shadows, which I keep promising myself I will start - but never get around to.:D
I don't do any social media either; too many online trolls, and tbh, I haven't really the time to spare, as all my household tasks take three times as long as they used to, and I hate having to ask Mr LW to pitch in and help.

Mr LW and I both love Sir Terry's books; we have the lot! We reckon he's channelling Ponder Stibbons (the techie wizard) and I just have to be Angua the vegetarian werewolf! :rotfl:

I know what you mean about being trapped under a dog; when Ollie stayed, he decided he was going to sit on me - Ollie was a very large-for-the-breed, entire male Staffie, built like a brick outhouse, and solid muscle. But oh, what a big baby! :rotfl:
I can honestly say I never met a dog I didn't like; there've been one or two I've had to work at it, but at the end of the day, they were only bad-mannered/naughty because they'd never been taught different, which isn't their fault, it's down to the owners.

Good news - I got another booking in my Inbox this morning - little Daisy is coming back at the end of November for a nine-night stay. :T

Anyways, I must log off; Mr LW is waiting to check his emails; he prefers to use the pc to do this, and I'm currently using it. :o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

LW another here still getting round to my own Book of Shadows.

My sore leg just keeps on giving. Antibiotics today and extra gel with a new dressing as it's not done yet what it was supposed to be doing. Texted my ex-nurse friend who says the antibiotics will upset my stomach. I've just joined the weight loss thread so can't decide if that's a plus side to them or not :rotfl:

Prinzess are the snowmen easy to do? I might like a go at making them......

    Take care all of you.

Yes, I think it must be fibro fog, I didn't think I had it, but clearly I do!:o

Today was at first a disaster as I had written down instructions for a different underground exit as the other one was closed so I got very confused when I got off the train. The whole area looks completely different from the last time I was there (probably about 8 years ago now!) so I could not find my bearings for ages.

The veg restaurant I was going to try was closed as well.

Lucky I decided to leave early in case anything went wrong because it did!:D

The therapy assessment was fine though. When I left I felt like a weight had lifted off me just from being in there for an hour. I have set up a regular appointment to see her every week.:)

I went to the Spitalfields charity shop one of the posters on MSE mentioned, but I didn't find anything I wanted to buy in there.

I did go to H&B and got some aloe vera juice. I think maybe someone on here mentioned aloe vera juice and fibro symptoms? I don't know, I'm losing track...:rotfl:
